What skills will you use?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 4:10 am

I was looking at a character hunter/ woodsman thread and it got me thinking.

I know a lot of people (including me) create characters with specific skills in mind and although Skyrim gives you more freedom with skills, it will still make more sense to focus on a specific few. So with the seven skills from Oblivion in mind what will you pick for your starting character?

As for me:

Blade (one in each hand; short in the left, long in the right)
Marksman/ Archery (longbow preferably)
Light Armour (or Medium if they have it and its not too bulky)
Sneak
Armourer
Alchemy

Note: I am not quite sure how this will transfer over in Skyrim. I hope they release more info on skills and armour @ E3!

Light Armor,Marksman,Blade,Block,Alchemy,Mercantile,Speechcraft.
My typical character is an Imperial Ranger,so Skyrim will suit him just fine.

I haven't desided yet, but sneak and one handed + marksman or destruction.

Restoration, Alteration, 2 handed weapon, block.

Fortify 2handed wep. to 100, fortify armor to max, then rip the opponent to pieces.

Plan on playing a battlemage-esque character. So Alteration, Destruction, Illusion, Restoration, One-handed weapon (Mace for the armour ignoring perks) and armour (probably Light but maybe Medium if it's included).

I did that in Oblivion... though did not work well when I got mobbed.

Or, if that fails, I'll resume my Illusion,Restoration,Conjuration method. Frenzy stuff then Conjure something to kill the last mob.

Definitely alchemy, sneak, destruction and restoration. I use them all the time so I don't see why I should stop now. Possibly blade too, but not marksman, I'm awful with a bow, I've never been able to get the hang of it.

I love the bow. I never really miss..too much time dipping sniper bullets on BFBC2 on Harvest Day

I have to say I never used Alchemy but now I am on my 6th or something play through on Oblivion and I am loving it. Still getting to grips with the best plants etc. but I made a very nice poison yesterday : )

Difficult to say because we don't have a complete skilllist yet.
But definitely Illusion and Enchanting
