Hand to Hand Removed... He-Man died today....

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 5:42 am

snip

Calm down man. Either way, when I get Skyrim I'm going to make a boxer character and punch everything to death. Don't care how big that dragon is, he's going down!

Did the same thing in Oblivion. Punching Ogres, Daedroth, and every other giant thick skinned creature to death. It's a lot of fun in a video game, you should try it!

of course its a game go ahead XD

all I'm saying H2H is not a skill but i will bet my left butt cheek that you can still punch stuff in the face, just don't expect to be effective every time (unless u uber mod it)

Same here, heck I even gave Jyggalag an uppercut and he surrendered. And I'll do the same to Alduin in Skyrim, be it with a downgraded H2H combat, H2H combat within another skill, or modded in H2H.

According to the admittedly nebulous statements from devs and Pete, we can assume that you will be able to punch one way or another.
And I swear, I will make a character that totally depends on it, no matter how weak it is. Just out of spite.

Well why then not remake skill if it was too weak to someone?
Learn new moves with skills, disarm and cripple opponents, acrobatic dodging and unarmored damage resistance?

I honestly don't think H2H will even be downgraded. It will probably have it's own perks just like all of the other melee styles. It just now falls under one-handed or two-handed (but probably the former).

They seem so easy to implement...

They haven't really said actually punching is removed. Hand to hand may just fall into a feature for your strength.

We don't have strength anymore.
So I guess it is again left to perks
(PERKS- answer to anything)

P.S. I haven't heard this too, but somehow I would not be suprised if this is truth

Man. Unarmored/h2h/sneak/acrobatics/athletics is one of my favourite builds, because it emphasizes what my character can do with their pure stats rather than how awesome that New Pretty Shiny Thing S/he Happened to Pick Up is. Walking around and not needing or wanting anything to defend against/attack other creatures/NPCs, and winning your fights anyway because you're faster, more agile, and perhaps stronger is just a brilliant feeling that I'm apparently going to miss in every respect in Skyrim. I'm really sad about this, actually.

There's a perk for that.

(I'm assuming this is going to be the answer to 80% of the fan questions)

I agree that it will most likely live on through perks.

I really can't imagine that they will completely remove all forms of hand to hand combat. It would be silly if a big burly nord, who forgot his weapons at home, would be powerless against a rat. I don't think the developers would force you into a situation like that (happened to me before in the previous games) and make you run away from the likes of mudcrabs and rodents. Elder scrolls' rats are big, but I could still crush their tiny heads with my foot. (Not that I would, I think rats are too cute to smash).
