CAPES in (new?) concept arts.

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 8:05 pm

I know CAPES is an old discussion, but i was in the Skyrim′s Facebook page (The Elder Concil) and there i found this concept art that i never saw before:

http://inovastudio.com/temp/skyrim.jpg

Is this pic really new?)

In this pic there is our hero with a cape... So, do you think capes could be in the game?

Discuss!

Edit: Sorry guys, it′s not a concept art, its a fan art

You don't have to be a superhero to wear a cape you know, the Spartans wore capes and look how badass they were :P

In the pic of Shrine of Talos (in the oficial website) he use cape too... But its all in the concept arts... I think it should had some screenshot released of somebody using a cape if they were really in the game... But do you guys have some hope on that? =D

and, if you don′t like capes, just don′t use it... simple enought!

No good cloth physics right? Capes would be ugly if that was the case.

It's certainly true that Superman did not invent the concept of a cape. And just because there are capes doesn't mean you have to wear them, if you don't like the look of a cape on your character, you can simply not wear it.

But regardless, if it's fan art and not concept art, then I think that renders it irrelevent to whether caps are in the game or not (A question whose answer right now is "I don't know.") because fan art is just that, artwork inspired by the game created by fans, it does not tell us what the game is actually like, and the artist may incorporate things that aren't actually in the game, so the picture does not really tell us anything.

We've seen an in game screenshot of the shrine and it has a cape, but that's irrelevent, because it's just a statue, and statues might be depicted with clothing you can't wear in the actual game. So yes, we have nothing to indicate the presence of capes, and based on that absence, my assumption is they're not in.

Uh yeah, I hate it when Bethesda introduces stuff that was specifically designed for a different world. Like, fire - who put that in!

Capes where wear by a lot of people in the Middle ages. It really has nothing to do with super heroes. Not having capes in Skyrim would be like not having beards. This is Skyrim were talking about, it's time for those pansy, pointy shoe wearing, British soundings, shrimps that littered Oblivion to walk of a cliff and die. Only to be replaced by BA men and woman who know what it takes to actually look ominous. This game is supposed to be darker then OB. You can't really make a dark setting without at least someone hiding in the shadows in a hood and cape. It's a lot better then skin tight 80's looking leather suits.
