Some people are saying that graphics don't matter: this is madness! If we're going to be clocking hundreds of hours like Oblivion, we need something nice to look at while we're doing it!

I agree. I hope they have some great creatures hidden in their pocket for later...maybe not as weird as Morrowind's, but still, something more original.

what is funny is that some of the most popular creatures for Morrowind added by mods were farm animals and real life fish species, I suppose there was enough weirdness in the vanilla game and that people missed "normal" animals :P With Skyrim it could very well be the contrary, modders will have to come up with new concepts of creatures... because all the "expected" creatures (dragons, mammoths, trolls, giants and horses) will already be in.

Seriously though, Spore has shown that it is not that hard to make totally new creatures! Dungeon Siege also had original ennemies (regardless of what people thought of the game), and even the Pokemon franchise has spawned hundreds of new animals.... it can't be that hard for Bethesda to come up with 5-10 new ennemies, can it?

What I don't like is the trees.

Everything else looks great, especially the fog.

another comparison: Oblivion on ultra with mods ( more advanced shaders active [ao and depthoffield], quarls texture pack, unique enviros) vs Skyrim

I thought the pic was great. All that pic made me want to do is explore that place for a really long time. Maybe my standards aren't high enough or something. I never really seem to have a problem with the graphics at all.

The grass that's sprouting up everywhere looks like it's 2D again, and that makes me a saaad panda. Also it only goes out so far in front of you again, so there's the magical ring of grass that sprouts up around you in a circle as you walk again.
