Oblivion replay makes me excited for skyrim

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 8:38 am

Just started a new playthrough on oblivion as an argonian archer but as i was running alongside a river thinking about skyrim i found an inn along the silverfish river i had never visited called the imperial bridge inn...i then thoght about the river i had been running across and it reminded me of the new fish ecology in skyrim...then i saw a slaughterfish flopping up and down on the shore desperatly trying to breathe...."I DIDNT KNOW SLAUGHTER FISH COULD DO THAT!" i cried...i quickly ran up with my bow drawn as it writhed about..it was almost impossible to hit, wasted all but 10 arrows trying to put the poor thing out of its misery...i felt like i had discovered a new part of the game even though it was something small..and with bethesda's promise of a bigger better oblivion in skyrim i can only imagine that it will captivate me like oblivion did for the last 5 years...have u had any experiences in oblivion or morrowind that has made u excited for skyrim? Or the tes series in general?

To this day I find things in Oblivion that I had no idea could/would happen. I have no doubt that Skyrim will continue to impress me for many, many years.

You could care less? You sure you don't mean you couldn't care less?

My brain kind of wants to play through Morrowind and Oblivion before Skyrim.. but honestly,, just like Daggerfall now.. I've so overplayed those games that I can no longer get very far in them. I start them and then get bored because I've done everything I could in the games before.. there's nothing left to explore or do..

Replaying Oblivion got me really excited for Skyrim, then playing Nehrim made me realise Skyrim would struggle to meet my expectations.

The novelty eventually wears off. I'm the same way. Loved Daggerfall and Morrowind, couldn't get past the level/loot scaling in Oblivion so didn't put more than 20-30 hours into it. Really hoping Skyrim captures the production quality of Oblivion, the static world of Morrowind, and the depth and intrigue of Daggerfall. In terms of replay, I probably will replay Daggerfall when Lucius finishes his XLengine remake for it. It's looking fantastic so far!

I know that feeling! I usually use that argument when someone says The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the greatest game in the history of the universe..

I was starting to get bored of playing a mage, but them I downloaded the Midas Magic mod. Now I'm hunting for gold nuggets like nobody's business. I can't wait to see what kinds of mods we can look forward to in Skyrim.
