New Skyrim Info Coming In Playstation Official Magazine

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 10:48 am

About the new screens....

Has anyone...err...stumbled upon them?

You know, you were casually strolling down the street and just happened to step on a worn torn copy of the Official Playstation Magazine, July 2011 issue?

Serendipitous things like this happen everyday.

a Wal-Mart near me in Ohio had the new issue on the shelves. I bought it, but there is one thing in the article that has me a little worried. In a part where they asked questions to Bethesda they wrote "players will be able to carry a lot more stuff than in Oblivion, and clothing will be simplified, with outfits and armor sets coming as a single suit rather than separate parts." Now whether this means that we collect them as a set, but the pieces are separate, or that there are no separate pieces, I do not know from what they wrote.

Its already confirmed they are in different pieces, its just that they will show up as one thing in the inventory to cut down clutter

Makes sense! I was wondering why there were two conflicting reports.

The spell combos have limits like someone mentioned summon skeleton combined with feather maybe that will just summon a skeleton that moves fast and attacks fast.

OMG, I think I just found a subscriber with the mag online on another forums (not TES related), I sent him a PM begging for the scans, I'll keep you updated

Edit: He posted a scan of another game, but from the July issue, so let's hope he is a good man :D

Is it illegal to send them in PMs? I know it is to POST them, but PMing them?

Pretty sure it is. I wouldn't risk it.

If someone gets their hands on scans, just post them on the, you know, usual boards for such things. We will find it.

This reminds me Faulgor! I was going to ask you about any good forums you've frequented lately. PM me? Thanks :D.

Also I'm hoping E3 has more (lots more?) info than the Playstation mag.

Edit: err double post. Duh. Sorry!

"Hello, I saw your post where you scanned a page of the PS Mag of July 2011, is it the Skyrim Issue? If so, I would seriously appreciate with all my life if you could scan those pages and send them to me via PM
Please, I would love to have a look at them. Thanks a lot, Have a great day."

His response

"Sure no problem buddy. O wait I forgot [censored] off."

I asked in the nicest way possible. And this is his answer, so yeah, sorry guys no success here... :sadvaultboy:

Who knows. He oculd have multiple reasons for doing so, but that just sounds like A-holery.

I saw the magazine in a local retail store yesterday I got a pretty good glance at some of the screenshots and I'll try to describe some of them to the best of my ability:
In one of the screenshots there is a female character looking towards a city/village/ on a hill (think Rohan). Additionally, you can see a few mountains in the background.
The next one is (what looks like) a male Nord with a huge two-handed axe and (what looks like) a set of leather armor.
The next screenshots is a camp site with trees (the trees look like the ones in this screenshot http://cdnstatic.gamesas.com/akqacms/files/tes/screenshots/ForestHunt_wLegal.jpg) to the right of the camp is a massive lake with a snowy mountain to the north of the lake,in addition there is a reflection of the mountain in the lake.
There is (what looks like) a Mage character using some sort of HUGE fire spell on (what I think is) a Draugr.
(This is the last screenshot I got a good glance of) There is a first person view of someone blocking a Draugr's attack with a sword.
So yeah, there were a couple more but they were basically screenshots from the gameplay trailer from a different angle.
Enjoy!
PS: Sorry if these aren't very descriptive. Oh and here are two more screenshots (not from the magazine) that I found on attack of the really devoted fan. http://attackofthefanboy.com/screenshots/new-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-screenshots/?pid=3717#picgallery

Thanks! I really want to see that screen with the Female Nord looking towards a town. The town isn't walled off? How far in the distance is it? Can you see the front of the character or only the back? What's the environment surrounding her look like?

It doesn't look that far away, the town is walled off by a surrounding stone wall. You can only see the back of the character, the environment looks exactly like this concept art here: http://cdnstatic.gamesas.com/akqacms/files/tes/concept_art/WhiterunCityTundra.jpg.
