Crafting skills for each of the three archetypes Smithing (Warrior), Alchemy (Thief), and Enchanting (Mage) are in.
Cooking, Farming, Woodcutting, and Mining have been mentioned (and if the what they can do you can is truly accurate then playing an instrument is also possible)
13 ores are also a go.

I can see Mining, woodcutting, and hunting as smithing goods gathering.
Harvesting and farming will be for alchemy.

Questions:

How will cooking be unique from alchemy? (i.e. changing ingredients into consumable buffs)
Will there be any gathering resources for enchanting? (beyond soul trap and killing folks)

You have a good idea, but I can't think of a wasy to balance this, simply from lack of information. Still intriguing, however...... Will keep this in the back of my head for a while.

Its a streach, but Liminal Bridges says Soul Gems are naturally occurring, collecting and mining them could be a possibility but has not been done in any previous game nor has soul gem mines been mentioned (to my knowledge), however they are very common and all over the place so they must be getting them in large amounts from somewhere and its not in any of the provinces we have seen.

I agree; it's awesome. So you have a reason to kill deer.

It wasn't fun in itself? Is there a better "reason" than how fun it is right off the bat?

Good point. Never thought about from where soul gems come.
