Will this violate the game's Copyrights?

My computer recently broke and i have to use this crappy old Optiplex computer until i have enough money for a new motherboard (which will not be any time soon). I tried installing oblivion (although i was 99.9% sure it wouldn't work because this is a 10 year old computer, embarrassing enough to say), then finding out that it won't even start up because this piece of crap desn't have a DVD drive, and i'm not spending $30.00 on one because knowing it won't work because this computer's sepcs are embarrassingly terrible.

I was recently working on a helmet for a custom armor set and luckily i had it saved to a USB stick so i could show my friend. So i installed blender and i thought to myself, oh wait... I need the _Male and _Female body mesh so i can use it as guidelines to extrude myself a cuirass, boots, grieves, etc. for the custom armor.

=======================================
So i asked someone on TESNexus if i could request a _Male and _Female body mesh so i can work on my mods while i sit here with nothing else to do, they told me it's against copyright laws.
=======================================

How would this violate the copyright terms? I'm only using it as a guide.

It doesn't sound like there's a violation here, but when in doubt about such things it's best to ask someone who can actually tell you for sure. I'd PM GStaff and ask him, just to be on the safe side.

Actually, there should be no reason to use the game meshes/textures at all. If you are working on a helmet, what you need isn't a body mesh anyway. Wouldn't it be a skeleton? there are a several modded skeletons that you could use. As long as you weren't putting them in a mod you wouldn't even need the modder's permission.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but bodies don't come with heads at all, do they?

Even if heads do come with the bodies, there are still lots of modded bodies to use.

I seem to recall this same discussion not long ago. You could ask someone to PM/email you the meshes you need, they just can't upload them anywhere for you.
Or, take your disk to a friend's house, extract the meshes/textures bsa's and put that on a USB.

Just DL head06 from nexus+ a body replacer. If you need to rig/Prn it, just create a proxy bone, I'll dig out the transforms and world space coords of the head bone if you want. Or you could just DL one of the skeletons on nexus.

I even think there are rigs for animating and all sorts on the nexus.
