Armour is separate (trying to stop misinformation)

Eh? http://i.imgur.com/c8Udr.png

"Guys, armor question is in the fan interview. As I said, it's not Fallout 3, one piece. Beyond that, stay tuned."

"@DCDeacon Will Skyrim's armor be one-piece or separated into cuirass, greaves, boots, and gauntlets?
@teambrady Armor is comprised of separate pieces."

This is a good thread just to alleviate any fears that people may have and get all the information in one place... so well done. Personally I'm not overly bothered about the armour pieces but for some people it seems to be massively important. Its great that it seems it will be in the game though and even better that judging from the screens it will be more customisable...

Still doesn't explain what would have lead to the misinformation/misinterpretation in the magazine though...

EDIT: Who said the second quote, and when was that said?

They're separate, it won't work like Fallout, with one suit as armor and hedgear.

As for how will it actually be separate is another question...

I'm not quite sure how it is that you believe that posting misinformation will stop misinformation.

In point of fact, we don't know what the system will be like, and apparently won't know until the fan interview questions are answered, so ANY claim that it's going to be any particular system is, at this point, "misinformation." Or, at best, speculation.

As of the most recent piece of information - Pete's tweet from yesterday - all we know is that it won't be "Fallout 3, one piece." That's it. The information before that is conflicting and it's noteworthy that Pete did NOT clarify that conflict. If the magazine information was flatly false, he could simply have said so. He didn't. All he said was that it won't be "Fallout 3, one piece" and then he implied that we'll find out when the fan interview questions are answered.

I understand that there are people rushing to the unsupported conclusion that there won't be separate pieces, but one cannot legitimately counter that by rushing to the equally unsupported conclusion that there will be. Clearly it's more complex than that, and clearly nobody here KNOWS precisely what it's going to be. All we can do is wait and find out.

I still haven't seen anyone claiming the magazine "confirms" no separate pieces actually QUOTE the magazine.

I think [citation needed] fits best here.

Ok fair enough i understand what you mean, but maybe it would look bad if Pete came out and said blankly '' The playstation Magazine is wrong'' i guess Sony wouldn't be happy. We will have to see.

maybe when it says armor comes together it means that bandits will have a full set of chainmail or fur instead of fur cuirass and chainmail boots

Good on you. And well so far it serms the idea from the PS Magazine has been the torso, shoes, armor basically being one piece of clothing.

By the general answer there could be an expansion ornreduction of slots.

However it's not a Fallout/Mass Effect affair.

"It's worth noting, too, that Howard and his team seem to have thought of everything. As we interview them, we eventually run out of generalized questions and start to get increasingly granular. How much meat do we get for killing a mammoth? How about a giant? What are the inventory weight limitations? How complex is the clothing system? No matter what the question, they've got the definitive answers on hand (just its nose; a gross-looking big toe; players will be able to carry a lot more stuff than in oblivion, and clothing will be simplified, with outfits and armor sets coming as single suit rather than separate parts).

The magazine says "clothing will be simplified with, outfits and armor sets coming as a single suit rather than separate parts."
I can see why there's some confusion.

Like the arena armor and robes in Oblivion, but not all armor was like that.

I can't make heads or tails of what that even means anyways. The sentence structure is all kinds of messed up.

Eggy misplaced the comma - it's actually, "...clothing will be simplified, with outfits and armor sets coming as a single suit rather than separate parts."

From what I've seen so far, it only takes 1 mention of misinformation to kill 1000 posts of what something really is to set off people. Hell, if I were to make a topic about how you can only be a male nord, a lot of people would believe me and get angry.

If so, it still svcks big time. Why would they ruin clothing? it already svcked in oblivion, why make it worse?

Thank the Lord, I was begining to become a bit worried. The one-piece thing felt at home in Fallout, but in Skyrim it would be just wired.
