Has anyone started colonizing mars? Oh, wait, we don't have the technology YET.

We don't have a CS either.

I'm inclined to think the gov lies and just doesn't have the money, but that's not what i meant. I was asking who plans on it not who's already gone ahead and started doing it. Concepts and the like. =_= Y'know what those are right? Ideas? Thoughts? Mayhaps?

Making models need not wait for release, since they've already announced that models will be NetImmerse format. While modders might still need to wait on an update to Nifskope, most of the modeling time is spent in the modeling application before exporting to NetImmerse. Should be able to get a head start on producing statics at least.

D'ya know if textures are still dds format? I doubt there will be many ppl seriously starting anything until the game releases, I really just want to know if there even 'are' any teams made up and ready to go when it does.

I'm sure that many people who modded Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas will be back as soon as the game releases.

modders already surpassed bethesda in textures and models in oblivion, most of the mods, (armor or weapons or textures or everything basically) look by far better than what skyrim looks like now. (on xbox anyways) tell me http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/10544-1-1205893801.jpg doesn't look better than skyrim's http://loudmouthedgamers.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/skyrim2.jpg or http://www.gamemunition.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Skyrim-Screenshot-01.jpg armor Both model and texture wise. maybe the only thing that hasn't surpassed skyrim is character models and textures being reallistic, but come on we like silky smooth skin sometimes on hot female chars such as http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/29103-2-1287840114.jpg

as ive stated on a few threads, the team im a part of has an objective for skyrims release, and that is to translate all of our current mods for oblivion, over to skyrim. so were gonna be busy for awhile.

Yup, dds.

Bear in mind that whatever bethesda might say about the engine, its heavily overhauled fallout 3 gamebryo engine, it will still have traces of gamebryo in it.

It's never too early to start modelling, making textures, and writing up design documents. I myself have a few plans already, but nothing to the scope of a full-blown modding team.

While def. more visually pleasing, the player armor doesn't so much surpass Skyrim's as it is of a dif. style. The way in which the new armor molds to the character's form looks really nice from the screens I've seen. I'm sure the armor mods that start popping out will be freakin' divine.

You kidding me? You want to see kajiits and orcs dressed like THAT?
joking, I know what you ment.

But I really really dont agree with it being better model wise: Im obviously fine with modders making porm armor left right and center, because I dont have to be subjected to it constantly. But if Im walking round vanilla skyrim being attacked by a bandit dressed like lady gaga with a +10 ho enchantment and a bonus to cleavage, I will be the one modding it back OUT. And no, "silky smooth skin" on "hot female characters" wouldn't appeal to me even if I WASN'T gay- I wouldn't want almost naked men running around my game either, because fake people don't turn me on.

But I do agree with moddeers making textures and things better than bethesda- quarl in particular. Just all the anime-pormo-shlaaag mods annoy me a bit.... :)

I'm planning to develop a Necromancer magic overhaul mod with some detailed quests, but obviously I kinda need to wait to play the game to see what kind of magic there already is to work with.

I work better on my own. I don't like taking the risk of joining a project with a high probability of never making it to the end, of which there are usually plenty at the start of a new game release.

I can tell you no, it doesn't look "better". It looks just like what it is: Oblivion assets retextured and slightly modified to look like a Hentai cartoon. I kinda like my characters in my medieval-style fantasy games to look more like Conan, not Rue Paul.... but that's just me.

Lulz, I have to agree I'm more interested in seeing realism over pretty armors and textures. Tho' I love my pretty mans too. I can't wait til we see the Argonians so I can get an idea on what sorts of mods I can make for 'em.
