Dual wielding does not work as a skill, especially with the other confirmed 1/2 handed weapons skills.

That's what I'm saying. But that other guy thinks otherwise.

The Hand to Hand skill has been removed. I don't think this means that you don't still have the ability to punch in unarmed combat. I would imagine it simply means that it's not going to be very effective but can be used for 'messing around' or killing low creatures.

It seems more realistic to me.

Realism, in a magic game. /slowclap

Change the straight block to a deflection (so no damage taken), add in fist weapons, give some disarm and knockdown skills (like time a catch on their sword, leg sweeps) and the possibility of going down a swift-kung fu like style, or a stand there and smack things style.

They could add in special moves where you infuse magicka into your fists for some weird and wonderful effect. That would hurt monsters.

Hopefully the blunts will be more varied, one handed hammers and clubs would be great and would make blunts equal to swords in variation. In terms of speed they could be, from fast to slow and weak to strong, clubs->maces->hammers. I also don't see why Bethesda never added molotovs or poison grenades, ala Dragon Age.

There. Are. STAFFS. If they are just the almost useless spell-only staffs, then crap. If they can be used like, say, the bo staff, heck yes. I've always wanted to try one out in the game, because I am rather decent with them in reality. Thoughts?

I always hated the fact that you couldn't just knock somebody out and walk away. You had to beat them to death. I wish they would allow a non-lethal way of disabling an NPC.

P.S. I really doubt that it is out. Probably just under the heading of "one handed".

Umm...... Unarmed combat.... :whistling:

Seriously, breaking joints, like elbows and knees, dislocating shoulder sockets, snapping necks? That's the way I roll. There are plenty of possibilities, but I prefer joint-manipulation, which is quite effective (and easy) in reality.

Staves would be good for monk-esque characters and as improvised weapons for commoners. However, the animations might be a bit much for Bethesda, honestly.

I hope they make it a small crime to beat someone up in a tavern. Tavern brawls would be great

Why must they ignore spears and thrown weapons? Hopefully they will at least make a staff.type of melee weapon and or a pike.

A pike is simply another kind of spear, mate. No spears, no pikes.

Yeah very strange to see it go. I never used it, but I know some people enjoy it. Though I was purplexed when I learned spears were out in Oblivion too and I actually used spears. A lot.

All they need to do for pikes is make the handle of a waraxe longer, that would be pikey enough for me.

They did that in Fallout New Vegas add on Dead Money and the spears *svck*. You don't slash a spear from side to side, at least not all the time. They are thrusting weapons. Now if they do polearms (and I pray to the gaming gods that they do) that would work fine.

Yeah maybe if you simply leave your hand slots empty of any weapons you can attack with your fists and it could have a perk group under 2h.

It'd be nice if gauntlets had some kind of effect damage wise.
