Morrowind architecture in skyrim

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 8:57 pm

I loved the architecture in morrowind, especially the redoran watchtowers. Since argonions invaded morrowind, there has to be some bits of dunmer architecture and culture here and there. Also since it's been 200 years, do you think there could be any changes in the architecture, If it's even there any more?

I would imagine it's looking less dunmer-influenced and more argonian-influenced. But I don't really know what an argonian influence on the architecture would actually mean cause we haven't really seen Black Marsh at all

Maybe in eastern Skyrim (which borders Morrowind). Otherwise, no thanks. It would make no sense.

hopefully there are colonies of the old houses thus brining there style of architecutre with them; Also since nords hate elves imma love me some 1950's style racism, a game set in this age would be great for some class warfare.

It would be cool in eastern parts of Skyrim (where it borders Morrowind) if there was Morrowind/Dunmer Style architecture. It would add a lot of variety to the game, and would add additional appeal to those who are nostalgic about Morrowind.

Judging from some of the screenshots I think the architecture will be superb without Dunmer influence, although Dunmer architecture was always a pleasure to see.

Well nords, those mead swilling savages couldn't tell the difference between oakwood and oranges. I think other races architectural things will be apparent.
jokes aside
I never noticed dark elf influences in cheydinnal or bruma so I doubt I'd noticed them in Skyrim.

I'd thought I'd read somewhere that one of the cities had some Dunmer-influenced architecture. I believe it was the city closest to Skyrim's border with Morrowind, but I don't recall where I saw this.

The city of Winter Hold is confirmed to be a Dunmer city, so, given 200 years have passed since Morrowind's fall the city is probably heavily influenced by Dunmer culture.

Maybe there will be some Dumeri flavor in terms of colors here and there in Winterhold, and although the UESP says its heavily influenced by Dunmer ways, I take that to mean in terms of culture and attitudes. I highly doubt Nords would allow Dunmer to outright build buildings in their style in one of their cities.

Winterhold is a Dunmer city. If you pause at 1:35 on the behind the scenes video, there's some concept art just right of the lamp that looks Redoran or something.
