Dragons.... Dragons never change.

So this is a little idea I've been thinking of- I feel that one of the things that Morrowind did well was respond to the actions of the character, and as the main quest progressed, the manner in which each NPC greeted you changed greatly depending on your actions. So my question is.... by the end of Skyrim's main campaign, it's logical to assume we will be an experienced dragon slayer that has many kills under his belt. So, my question, assuming it is relevant, is.... will the lesser dragons fear us? Will the game begin with us being treated by the dragons as another random villager all set to be engulfed by flame, and then progress so that the dragons fear us, or at the very least, respect our power? Or will it be a more static response?
It's an interesting question, and as the backstory of the dragons seems to suggest a fair amount of brainpower and intelligence, it's a logical assumption their opinion of us would change over time. What do you guys think/want?

People in Oblivion responded well to our fame, there's some sense of progress for you.

But if it's the ENEMY you want to impress/intimidate, then I guess it could work. Kathutet and his clan of Dremora were impressed with our assault on Ganonah, and for me that was a "Heh, cool" moment, where I could talk with the enemy.

Indeed, I do remember that. And while the Dragons have their own language, I don't expect we'll be able to communicate with them directly (though I'm not ruling it out as a possibility). I just think it'd be cool if, when you're facing off against three dragons and kill two, there is at least a hint of respect in that third dragon's eyes. Although, given the manner in which dragon emotions will be presented this may be very difficult to show. Not to mention the fact that if dragons are as incredible as I've been led to believe, they shouldn't need to fear anything. I still find it to be an interesting concept, and one that would add to realism in a very nice way.

I dont know, if I was a big baddie dragon that foretells the coming of a huge dragon god, no matter how many of my brothers you kill, I'll still try to eat you.

I remember Kathutet. He asked me to rescue some friend, to which I responded by breaking his head with my daedric warhammer.

And the way they have been speaking of dragons, they will be unrelenting, intimidating, fearless, ferocious beasts that want to tear our limbs off.

Fearless, you say? :whistling:

But... there is one they fear... In their tongue, he is Dovahkiin...

Then you haven't been listening well enough.

Todd has said on numerous occasions that some Dragons speak English. This obviously means they are capable of intellectual behaviors; shall we say... having a conversation? Actually, Todd confirmed that you do talk to some Dragons.

I can only assume that some Dragons (presumably the Dragons you can talk to) will not attack the PC. If they have the capability of attacking the PC, then they may if you've slew a number of their kin. Just a thought. Sounds pretty cool though. I always thought of Dragons as creatures of intellectual nature, with the ability to kill you whenever they please. Sort of like that passive-aggressive guy at the office. Yes, the one you know in the back of your mind will come in one Monday and unload a can of murder-suicide. :spotted owl:

It may be that you'll get to the point where dragons 'yield'.

Maybe when you get a reputation as a dragon slayer and reduce their health to a certain point they will beg for mercy and then begin conversation with you?

Cool contradiction.

How is that a contradiction, my good fellow?

Unless Todd Howard confirmed somewhere that the Dragons that talk to you will not attack you at some point, and if they don't attack you immediately may attack you if you've killed many a dragon. Then, it could be a contradiction. Or maybe I'm not getting something that I said (mind = blown). Otherwise, ye be trollin'.
