Telekinesis should be like The Force

It'd be sweet if you could grab an arrow out of the air.

Would definitely be awesome if telekinesis added another dimension to gameplay, if properly balanced. I think everyone would agree to 1.)having the spell in Skyrim and 2.) seeing some kind of improvement over Oblivion's implementation. As others have said, however, developers would need to be careful not to allow it to be so overpowered that other methods of gameplay become irrelevant.

I just want to be able to pick up a blade and impale someone with it using telekinesis.

Yes, but something along the lines of Bioshock might fit better.

I'd be happy with it working like bioshock just being able to chuck objects and fire arrows back would rock. Duel weilding the spell for disarming would be cool.

n Bioshock if upgraded you can lift and throw people.... so you want that to is what you are saying? because i think that would be cool.

A.) Disarm Weapons or Shield- You press a button multiple times like mad, then when pressed enough, your opponent's weapon flings away. Number of times the button is pressed depends on the weight of the shield or weapon.

Like this?

About button mashing, I think better use Alteration skill check and Spell Magnitude based on charged magicka versus enemy stats:
- Character level,
So high level enemies will require much more skills and charged magicka to be disarmed

- Alteration skill,
Logically thats manipulating of such objects require at last apprentice skills from mage, in such cases enemy mages thats skilled in Alteration can protect self from disarming by novice in Alteration, as well such Skilled enemy mage can attempts disarm player also so be ready, absorb his magic, dodge it, interrupt his concentration, bash him before he cast or while channellings charge, shout on him with FUS RO DAH, so magic wielding opponents will be more interesting enemies and not rush into melee all time.

- Equipment weight,
Heavy objects require more concentration from mage to be manipulated so skills and charged magicka again come into calculation.

- Current fatigue and health levels
Logically thats weak or exhausted or injured enemy can be manipulated in much easer way then strong and full of health.

- Detection state
Disarm unaware enemy is easer then attempt disarm enemy thats rush at you in combat, use the sneak Dragonborn.

B.) Levitate and Fling- You could make NPCs/creatures levitate like Wingardium Leviosa, then like an item fling them away. How you can make them levitate depends on the target's willpower. When the target is down, he will have to get up, much like the aftermath of paralysis in OB.

Well I'm afraid to say but there is no more willpower so such check cannot be done, so need to use more complicated checks from above, I think powerful magnitude from charge and skilled in Alteration hands can really manipulate enemies in such manner Master level spells must be also crown not just allowance use telekinesis longer time and from longer distance.

C.) Deflect Projectiles- When things like arrows go your way, if you could time it right, you could stop the arrow in its tracks and at a higher perk, throw them back. Depends on your timing.

Yes catching arrows is good thing as well there is also can be catching of throwing weapons and potions, another idea how about enchanted with telekinesis bow thats allow you guide arrow with some manipulation in flight?
Or combination of Shield and Telekinesis spells thats slow enemy weapons in close combat and slow incoming projective more skills and more charge larger radius of effect more slow downing?

The main drawback is that you stand still since you are focusing your mind.

Indeed Concentration checks can be done, although not need to anchor mage all time while channellings or charging concentration time can depend on skills special traits and special training in form of perks, such channellings state can be interrupted by strike of enemy during combat and can have penalty from wearing armors and weapons unless special special traits and special training in form of perks, will not reduce it or overcome.

Well I don't know.. It definitely sounds cool. But if telekinesis could do all of that then it would end up being ridiculously overpowered, and overshadow everything besides dragon shouts. Plus it wouldn't really have any weaknesses..

Group of enemies charging you? Just force push them away. Archers shooting at you? No problem! Just grab those arrows, and chuck them right back! Plus being able to pick up, and throw npc's would just be overkill.

It should definitely be improved, but not overpowered. We should be able to unlock interior doors/chests from a distance (like in Morrowind) and move distant objects close to ourselves. But manipulating other people is TOO much (and is not done in the lore).
