Stuck on greater dwemer ruins

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 12:58 am

I recently reinstalled morrowind and am now level 40 something and at the end of the main quest, when modding this playthrough I decided to install greater dwemer ruins to try it out. I have now been running around dagoth ur for hours now looking for the way to continue but just cant find it, I want to play the new end sequence with this mod but if I cant work out what to do soon im going to just remove it and go with the default, I have found a door that wont open because there is apparently lava behind it, several closed cylinder shaped things with the name "?" and a sphere at the entrance to dagoth ur outer facility and inside the passages that says "you need a key to open this" or something similar when i try to activate them, has anyone else finished this mod because I cant work out how... any help would be much appreciated

Search everywhere, click on everythng. The tubes are important and allow you to progress when you activate the correct thing.

I think the mod seems excessively hard, which I guess was its purpose. I haven't actually played it, and Im considering it I also think the original was really anticlimactic, but everyone seems to get stuck at certain points, and also seems to frustrate people more than make them satisfied with the main quest, plus it seems there are many instances where if you make a mistake, the penalty is instant death which can interrupt the experience, if you have to start over at last save. Do you guys recommend it, the line above me is based entirely off how I see others reacting to it.

thanks,

GDR vol.1 is indeed harder. :)

For me, that's the draw in the first place. I feel that it makes for a much more rewarding experience once you finally get through all the traps and pitfalls. You'll have a true sense of accomplishment if you can complete it.

I've been through it dozens of times over the years and I still get stuck on occasion. The best advice I can give is to look at everything and try everything. Yes, there are traps that can cause instant death, but where would the suspense be if your life weren't hanging in the balance? GDR makes you think outside the normal MW box. If you pay close attention there are solutions for every trap or puzzle. You may have to backtrack here and there to activate different things to progress to the next area.

And in the end, you *are* fighting a god. How easy can that be? :D
