Tamriel Rebuilt not working for me...

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 2:32 am

okay so I'm somewhat new to the whole modding thing as i just got a computer powerful enough to make Morrowind look real good. I just have the Morrowind Overhaul mods installed, and I just installed Tamriel Rebuilt.

back to my problem, the land keeps disappearing when i get close to it. I see all of TR when I'm far away. when i get somewhat close to it (like 40 ft?) the land disappears, it's just water. can someone help me?

Seems that you did (correctly) select Tamriel Rebuilt for distant land generation, but didn't activate it for the game. Make sure that all Tamriel Rebuild plugins are activated.

hm, well i ticked TR data, and TR 1 and 2, but it's still not working. all my other mods seem to be working... is there anything else i might be missing? I suppose i wll reinstall all the datafiles, and come back after that. I'm fairly certain i did it right though...

EDIT: reinstalled for no reason really (as it was all good before), and it's still not working...

Are you using Windows 7? Do you have Morrowind installed to the default directory? Windows exerts certain permissions over the Program Files folder which can exhibit weird issues like settings not being saved, etc.

I am on windows 7. its saved under the default directory C:->Program Files(x86) ->Bethesda Softworks -> Morrowind.

I run Morrowind in Compatability Mode: Windows XP Service pack 2.

If that is indeed the issue (which it could be), you can move to a new folder that Windows does not affect.

I always use C:\Morrowind, and you can simply cut/copy the folder from Program Files to C: if you want to try. After it is moved, go to the launcher and recheck the proper mods, and give it another shot.

Alright thanks I'll try that, I'll be back in a few minutes.

okay now TR loads, but Morrowind crashes before my game fully loads... it says it cant find some plugins...

Here's my warnings txt.

One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information.

I looked at the data files and the "parent master files" are (for all of the above) morrowind.esm and TRIBUNAL.ESM. only those two, not bloodmoon.

Then when loading my save-file, it has a problem with "sleeper script" or something and then another problem with the "index master" in script Warp-Andra. after that Morrowind closes.

Apparently Windows 7 stored some of the plugins in different places (compatibility folders, most likely). See if you can find them. If you can't, I suggest to uninstall Morrowind (perhaps move it back to its previous place for a cleaner uninstall), then re-install into a directory that Win7 isn't so picky about. C:\Morrowind should work. Or, if you have more older games (issues like these are very common among older games on Win7), you could make a folder C\Games for all of them, and create a Morrowind folder inside that one.
