EA + Crytek face it... nobody is playing DLC!

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 10:35 pm

I was one of those who have bought the map pack ... and the harsh reality is that nobody is playing these maps.
It is sad to see that there are only 5 or 6 players in the best case, and it is a shame to see good maps completely empty.

So, I know this has been said hundreds of times ... but EA+Crytek, please think about it.
The maps should have been free, this game is not as large as COD community. And there isn't plenty of room to profit from a payment DLC.
As an example I also played a Aliens vs Predators and same thing happened, the DLCs divided people, empty DLC servers, 3 or 4 people playing, etc, etc, etc.

Just look at Bad Company 2... Free maps, and community still growing. And it's 1+ year old game.
Make weapons DLC paid, but not the maps...

PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT!
I think is a wrong strategy.

Thanks.

Agreed. DLC mappack has failed. Pricing policy svcks => poor sales => no players to play => community getting anger => ... => no profit!!!!!!!
Crytek face it. Very poor amount of people who has purchased it can't even get a chance to play it. Make it for free, give money back, or some sort of compensation.

No .. Everybody would play it, if it would be free.
I would say: NOBODY BOUGHT IT! (only the ones who thought "oh let's see how good / bad it is" :P )

Yah... You cant release DLC maps when comunity is new! You need to wait some and let comunity grow and such give some freebies like this map pack and ull see a jump in players population for sure! Have u ever played any tycoon games crytek? If you have ud notice that when you give freebies at start u get more people in and theyll buy everything else u put price on!

I have forgiven Crytek as it has become blatantly obvious that it is the McD of games, Electronic Arse, who are to blame at the end of the day. The game still has issues, serious ones to boot, and there they are trying to dump DLC before these issues have been resolved. Thats is offensive!

To put it as bluntly as possible. EA's costumer relations svck and this is why. Unfortunally for Crytek, it's going to rub off on them.

I am not against DLC for the sake of itself. I am against the pettiness of the whole thing. What used to be costumer care, must be milked for every last penny now. Most DLC is of a nature that makes it feel like paying for relish and a glass of water with your food. It's so petty behaviour on part of the seller that it becomes repulsive. And I am less likely to trade with such a company again.

If EA has some financial hardship, one would think that keeping good relationship with the money base is a very good idea. Not according to EA it appears.

I agree, I will be requesting my money back as I have paid for something that I can not play and if I am refused a refund I will simply do a chargeback!

i laughed that they put a price on this dlc when i heard about it, i also laughed because from the number of complaints i knew no one would wanna buy it, lol and it happened like planned of course. Plus weve seen these places in the game already, make something new.

and i rmeber when epic games released a HUGE free dlc for unreal tournament 3, population rose very quickly but later fell, due to the lack of interest of ut3, the game is now dead.
