So, I bought brink the other day, and I'm trying to work out how to play the damn game, here are my issues:
1) Apparently I have unlocked all the campaign already? Is that normal?
2) How do I play straight up online? Just (for example) 4 vs 4 match?
3) Can someone explain the levelling system to me, apparently I'm level 8, but I have no achievement for attaining rank 5.

Level and Rank are different. Rank effects your ability unlocks, for example, levels 1-5 is rank 1, levels 6-10 is rank 2.

Use Freeplay to play Online, it's the best way to play Versus.

Yes that's normal, simply play from the earliest day to the latest on whichever side you prefer first.

No problem. To get to grips with the game, if you havent already give the Challenge mode a go to unlock weapons and get to grips with some of the gameplay mechanics.

Then step up to Campaign, which you can play Solo, or by changing some options open it up to 'Everyone' or Friends Only etc. etc. and get some Co-Op on the go.

Freeplay then allows humans on both teams (so long as you set it to Versus) with a bunch of different game modes, which are really the same mode but with different options enabled/disabled.

Also, if you play on Xbox feel free to add me and I'll play with you when I can, but if you're new you will need to make sure you play with the option 'My Rank or Higher' Enabled because I'm already Top Rank on my favourite character (but will make a new one if I need to to help you out). Playing on Co-Op is the best way to complete some of the tougher attack missions because the bots are fairly useless.

Select the competition mode in freeplay if you want to play humas only. I believe all the other modes fill up the teams with bots.

You get rank every 5th level, and you start at rank 1.

Campaign is "all unlocked" because each mission stands alone pretty well and this is just a multiplayer game with cinematics. "Campaign" is "cooperative" online only because it forces all human players to one team in Co-op; in versus, human players are on both teams. Freeplay is the real "online" mode, but it's basically the same as playing campaign missions if you choose standard game settings.

on freeplay , when u click it , opens several options: internet , favorites, local lan, etc . to have your own favourites choose internet and then on the servers list click on left side the little stars the server u want to add


LVLing RANKing : concerning lvl's and rank's : customise your characters "abilities" to get extra capacities ( lvl 10 is 3 star , 15 is 4 , 20 is 5 )

most of us sold our abilities more than once and kept the ones that we see fit
