North American Servers Where are They?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 4:36 am

Strange that I can't access forums with my other login. Admittedly, I have been very critical of EA executives. The rest of EA is doing a great job

To the point. Since the recent patch 1.8. My two servers have gone empty. The Server Browser is especially slow. Even my favorites takes more time than expected to populate, and I only have 25 or so favorites.

It seems unimaginable that EA executives could so thoroughly undermine the server base as they did this past week. Oh wait, forgot to tell server providers there was going to be a patch, that made 99 percent of servers in North American inaccessible. Gosh! Who'd a thunk it.

Is that what happened? I wasnt sure if it was that or maybe everyone let their contracts expire at the beginning of the month. My favorites are 50% gone since 1.8
I get 3-5 servers active from a total of less then 60 in north america usually. Lots of games in Europe, but being high pinger is a drag.

My pacific coast server tanked after this patch as well.

If you look at gametracker data, there are only about 10 to 12 North American servers a day out of the 4 to 5 hundred that even have any action...ever. Compare that to hundreds of COD servers active day in and day out and you start to get a feel for what a flop this game was in the USA. Such a cool game, what a pity.

What did Crytek expect? No real RCON. DLC was a disaster. Then they remove "gl_startgame" and go to a useless waste of time called prewar. People sit in prewar for about as long as they sat in the lobby...which isn't long enough to actually get 4 people and start earning some points.

It's game over for me and my clan. We play one night a week and owning a server makes no sense in that case. My server goes bye bye at the end of the month.

Fear? I've heard of your clan. You guys got game. Can't remember if it was Cod or CSS. You hit the nail on the head. Contact DDD geronimo; he has an idea.

Tonight we shut down the #2 ranked server in the world. For the rest of this month we will keep the DDD| ARMAGEDDON CrashSite server running, but it's future is undecided. When I see a game like BRINK surpass this game in population, release patches that actually mean something and, releasing their first DLC for free (compensation for the problems) I know there's a problem here. The fact that they released the 1.8 without saying anything shows the lack of concern for this community. It proves that they are not in touch with what's going on here.
Throw in the towel, put a fork in it, release the tools and let the moders fix it. It's apparent they can't.

The worst part is that this game is truly a great game.

But I feel like I can't do the simplest of tasks as a server owner.

Then I see Crytek lock your thread the other day Geronimo when you were merely trying to point out obvious problems that if fixed will better the game for all.

That is how they treat the owner of several of the top servers in North America... I was blown away.

When I saw that, I basically wrote this game off.

I was asking for what every server owner/admin needs to run the game/servers:
Fix the hanging lobbies
Fix the Auto-balance
Fix the BannedList that gets auto deleted (very important) not like the game is Hacker free.
Make the DLC more buyer friendly

Also on the Wish list: Give support to the Admin tool developers since they won't release one.
As we know, this game is very admin dependent. Without the proper tools we're dead in the water.
Just makes me wonder, could they simply just want the game to fail? I have learned a few things from these Forums: either they can't fix it and ignore or pleas, they won't fix it and ignore our pleas, they have no idea and ignore our pleas.
