Adrenaline Power-Nade spam

ok, so you're all aware of the more powerful grenades and faster grenade-throwing that soldiers have, right? Also, you're aware of the medic's adrenaline skill rendering someone invincible temporarily with a yellow outline?

I played a few games where, and this seems rare still, all the attacking team does is adrenaline-buff a few soldiers then the soldiers power-nade every defense they see. It feels like tf2 ubercharged demomen. Either two power-nades or one and a few shots renders turrets worthless, adrenaline can only be countered by knocking the enemy down, but the grenades they throw are such quick, single attacks that can go anywhere! It's like nothing you do matters...

If anyone else has seen this... it seems a few trends are growing here and there and may go from rare to popular.

Well when people go on-line and tell everyone about them they might just, but the short effect and slow recharge of adrenaline makes it a limited attack anyways.

Dont really understand what's going on here. You mean a few buffed (invincible) soldiers throwing over-charged grenades? I suppose the best thing to do is just wait for the first volley and then continue to run away. As a Heavy Character you're probably screwed. Does seem a little cheap and nasty.

I've noticed that people who play medics are getting much smarter about using Adrenaline shots. Using it on me when I'm doing a primary objective, rather than just hitting me with it in the spawn.

Smarter adrenaline usage has been needed for a while.

If you hit them enough, when Adrenaline wears off, the Soldier dies.

Why do people always forget that part?

Also, YOU CAN SEE THEM THROUGH WALLS.

If your team has a Soldier, get him to do the Molotov/Underslung GL combo (if they have an AR), or throw a Frag, then use a Molotov before they scatter. If you're high enough level to worry about double-buffed health, and your team doesn't have the health CP, fire a burst of whatever weapon you're carrying. By the time he's back up, Adrenaline has worn off, and he's back down again.

You should be able to pre-empt their attack because of the glowing outline around the guy, and hit them before they hit you.

It's a good tactic, but it's not unbeatable.

Update on Adrenaline (Source: http://www.splashdamage.com/node/821):

Abilities
Somewhat unsurprisingly, we've also been unable to keep our hands off Brink's player abilities. There's a single tweak coming your way here, with the Medic's Adrenaline ability now having a shorter duration, which'll make timing the ability right even more important.

When Will I Get These?
These changes are already live in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Brink. If you're on the PC, you'll be getting the entire batch of balance changes alongside the next game update.

On refuel once as a heavy soldier the entire defensive team was holed up in the room with the first transport objective in it (the fuel for the plane) and I got adrenalined by a medic standing next to the door. I walked in with molotovs, flashbangs, super nades and a fully reloaded EZ nade launcher... the most sadistic smile came over my face when I got 7 kills and 3 turret kills in 5 seconds.

The giving end of this tactic sounds wonderful

Sounds to me like you just described a great tactic, not an exploit. Also, I never really thought of this until you said it. Now you've got one more medic adrenaling the hell out of soldiers. :P
In all seriousness, adrenaline isn't THAT overpowered. As said before, it's short duration, long recharge, coupled with the fact that the target recieves all damage when when the effect wears off, makes it fairly balanced. So keep shooting at an adrenalined enemy, then run, because they'll die moments later.

It's mostly the fact that power-nades/adrenaline combo is a vastly superior tactic to any other defense-breaking tactics. Of course I listed a very good tactic. So good that tactics such as "defense" and "alternative forms of defense-breaking" are rendered meaningless (when skillful players use the tactic) which reduces the game's class skills to medic adrenaline and soldier power-nade since they override all other tactics. Use the best or die like the rest, that's the nature of imbalance in multiplayer competitive games.

Ive seen an operative/ medic combo where the operatives gets adrenaline, and then hack every turret they see. That one sounds more fun though.

But really, lets not cause a ruckus here, the game is still at its infancy, and this is just one prominent strategy FOR NOW. Im sure it will pass as more and more strategies arise.
