1) Will fan-made maps be supported in online multiplayer?
2) Will the servers with those maps still be shown on the server browser?
3) If so, will there be an auto-download via the Crysis 2 game client for those new maps? Counter-Strike comes to mind for a game that supports this.
As far as I remember from the original Crysis, you had to manually download any fan-made maps from another site. While this is fine for someone like me, there definitely still are those people that are just too lazy to do that, or do not know how to. An auto downloader would be quite nice, and make it so the created maps are played on often, as it would be less time consuming to get them.
I do not know if it would even be possible to put something like that into the game at this point, but that's why I'm asking these questions! I know the console versions would be a whole different world when it comes to sandbox created maps, which is why I'm posting this in the PC forums at the moment. I'm not sure if there's a plan for the consoles. I know certain games like Halo have a file share, so maybe that's the route you would take on the console versions.
This is all assuming that custom maps will be supported. However, that may also kill money from the DLC, but I never really liked paying for DLC anyways. At the same time, I've seen plenty of games still successfully sell DLC and allow for custom maps. We'll see.
