looking for the name of a certain site

hey, this is just a real quick question.

its a website where you build your own custom gaming PC out of parts you pick out, what i am thinking of doing, is finding the names of the parts i want on there, researching them, and eventually buying them at a lower price somewhere else.

although i may cave in and just by it pre-built, i got scammed out of my money when someone who didnt know what they were talking about tried to give me advice, and am not in the mood to accidently screw up and waste more of it.

well, if you go that route, you can't buy the parts locally unless someone local will build it for you.

As for custom builders:

There's another I'm forgetting about

do you have any suggestions on some parts to get with it without breaking the bank (less then 1,200), yet still being able to play skyrim at max settings?

also, im new to gaming computers, is there really much a difference between AMD, and Intel?

http://www.ncixus.com/

You pick out parts, (no base build) and they put it together and test it for an extra 50$

I'm gonna be building me a bit of a budget rig soon too. i5 2500k (i5 2400 if short on cash) and a Nvidia 460 (you can probably find cheaper AMD cards that are superior, but for my needs I need Nvidia since for other things I rely on Nvidia-specific APIs). I tallyed everything up and am in the $900 price range, but it may actually be cheaper now, as I've not checked recently (just waiting to find out what my final budget will be in July, may even be able to upgrade to Nvidia's 500 series if my budget is nice enough and the prices drop sone)

Right now Intel has the edge with Sandy Bridge, but AMD is going to be releasing a new lineup soon that may change that.

This. They often have great deals too not to mention price matching.
