I dunno, what do you all think? I had low, low expectations for this game; however, as details have been found, it seems that NG3 is becoming quite an interesting game.

Gameplay information-

- Muramasa's Smith is gone; Weapons will upgrade over time.
- Cooperative and competitive multiplayer
- Ryu can now climb walls

Plot-

- Ryu has some sort of demonic possession going on with his arm - perhaps the reason for his descent into Hell?
- Supposed to explore the human aspect of Ryu - what all the killing has done to him as a person.

See, this is what increased my interest, because we don't really know Ryu. Sure, he is good at killing his enemies and being a ninja... but what about the Ryu that is behind the ninja mask?[

Screenshots are nice, though.

This is one of my favorite series and is my most anticipated game after Skyrim and GTA V.

Mostly this, minus GTA V and adding Deus Ex 3. I don't understand all the hate for the censoring in Sigma 2, though..I mean, as far as gameplay was concerned, Sigma 2 was more balanced than Gaiden 2, and certainly ran better. If they've struck a good balance between tough-but-fair gameplay and Gaiden 2's violence, then fine by me; I just want a good Ninja Gaiden.

I'm fine with good gameplay; it is simply a matter of Ninja Gaiden being a series famous for its over-the-top ultraviolence, which Sigma II lacked. From their statements so far, I'm mostly concerned that Team Ninja will either dumb down the combat with QTEs, or focus less on single-player for the multiplayer feature.

Itagaki isn't working on it, right?

I'd like it to be good but chances are it'll be trash, like NG2.

Black didn't have any "ultraviolence", though. It had some blood effect on the slashes and a few enemies you could decap, but nothing close to Gaiden 2's scale. Black was famous because it had one of the greatest combat systems in an action game ever, on par with Devil May Cry 3.

Yes, Black and DMC 3 are action classics. They are at the very top of the pedestal for me.

Right; II was the shining star of the "violence" factor, which is probably why Sigma II was a shock to some people. If Team Ninja finds a way to combine Black's "open-world" setting (a term I use lightly) with II's violence, then 3 will be an awesome game. And while I am wary of 3 not being as good as the other two, what we've seen so far seems to promise at least a little bit more of the "open-world" feel that Black had, with the new climbing mechanic and such.

Thanks for the link. I'd honestly rather have them just focus on an amazing single player.

Yeah, no problem- and I know what you mean. I'd be fine with a solid co-op mechanic, but multiplayer seems sort of foolish.
