Honda CRF 150 problems.

Ok I'm trying to sell my dirtbike to make some money for a car. It's a 2004 Honda CRF 150cc bike. It runs fine but it takes forever to start when it's cold, I'm talking like 10 minutes of nothing but trying to get it to turn over. It has a brand new spark plug too so I know it's not that. I've come to the conclusion that it might be a problem with the carburetor. A while back I remember my friend messing with the carburetor on his 3-wheeler to get it to idle right, maybe mine is flooding the engine when it starts or not giving it enough gas?

I don't know for sure what's wrong with it, that's why I'm making this topic, and I don't want to pay to have it looked at as I'm already short on money. So does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Telepathic bike engineering and tinkering, hmm, that's destined to work.

Is that the only problem or did you find that you lose power at times when riding it or that it vibrates more than it should? Just trying to recognize something here.

To be honest, similar problems I heard about often lead to simply replacing carb parts, but I'm less of an expert than a proper mechanic...

I've never noticed that it loses power, and if you mean vibrates as is like it's starting to stall then no. I just went out and rode it around a bit, it started faster than normal, only took about 15-20 kicks.

And yeah I was thinking this sounded a little ridiculous when I was writing the topic. But hey you never know what you'll get on the forums :P

Has it always been like that in the cold or is it a recent problem? All the bikes I've had were slow to start in the cold, kickstart and electric start. Part of it is from the engine being exposed, I think. Does your choke work properly? I would say take it to a bike shop and have them look at it, if it's that much of a problem. They shouldn't charge much, if anything just to look at it.

Unfortunately I don't have a solution, but it's good to see another Honda CRF owner. I own one but it's 100cc, Im eventually going to trade it in for a 150cc
