Do you prefer Elder Scrolls or Fallout?

The Fallout games (especially the original games made by Black Isle) and TES are one of my favourite franchises along with Gothic and HOMaM,
so this was a hard decision.

The Elder Scrolls.

I think Fallout 3 is a better game than any of the Elder Scrolls games, but overall I enjoy spending time in the ES games more, so I'll pick the Elder Scrolls.

Despite Fallout 3 being my favorite Bethesda game, second being Morrowind, I much prefer the Elder Scrolls. It's lore is deep and compelling, and I like being a part of it's fanbase. With Fallout, it has interesting yet frustratingly limited lore, and it's fanbase is just not fun to be in, as most older fans treat my kind (a FO3 lover) like some sort of plague rat. No thanks. I'm sticking with Elder Scrolls until Fallout 4 is announced, and even then I'll be keeping a 10-foot pole distance between me and most of the fanbase.

Fallout in every way.

Well daggerfall from elderscrolls series was good, but other games were very bad, expecially oblivion. Even with mods.

Fallout, for me, by a narrow margin. I enjoy both series, but I generally find high fantasy pretty difficult to get into (especially anything involving elves... I hate elves).

Morrowind was one of my first RPG's, followed by Obivion. I love FO3 and FNV, but they don't even come close to the love I have for the Elder Scrolls. Not even close.

TES all the way :tes:

My exact thoughts.

Morrowind and TES get the cake.

MW was the first RPG I ever played... so yeah. Plus, I tend to like that kinda fantasy a lot more than apocalyptic settings.

Fallout.

I like both settings but I enjoy the apocalyptic world more.

The amount of choices you can make in the quests in Fallout make it trump TES fairly one sided quests.

For sheer amount of quests, TES wins hands down but not all I found interesting and rewarding. Fallout 3 had more memorable quests.

Fallout 3 and NV's (to lesser extent) exploration was more fun and interesting than TES (there wern't many random dungeons, every place had a little story to tell) and some places were truly memorable, like Dunwich and Oasis in F3 and the factions and the Strip in NV. TES was amazing in terms of exploration but Fallout pips it because of the numerous locations of interest.

On the other hand, TES has an epic fantasy setting with many types of creatures to fight and, this is the big one, more variety in what character you could be and roleplaying.

Fallout for me. The uniqueness of the setting, gameplay&rules (of the first 2 games) and themes are more appealing to me. Fantasy RPG's like TES are a dime in a dozen, whereas the Fallout-like are much rarer, and thus more "fresh".
