Which do people prefer 3rd person or 1st person for range characters or do you prefer the over the shoulder view.

I'm not sure what the proper term for the Elara's view. I've found that I didn't have a clear line of sight over the field with her standing there. It's as if she was my dancing partner and had to turn her to see past her, so I'd often find myself switching weapons to enjoy an open field of vision.

Opinions please? Also do you know if there are any fixes or mods that can change it.
