I hope there aren't dragons EVERYWHERE

As the title states I hope i'll be able to leave the city walls to go for a leisurely stroll and take in the (hopefully) rich environment. Without be mauled by several dragons.

Not at all, it just seemed like that on the demo because he had such a short period of time to show what he wanted to show. I'm sure they upped the dragon appearring rate just to show their awesome-ness.

Yes indeed, Todd actually said in an interview that he was beset upon by more than one dragon and asked them to ensure that'd not happen in the release as it was too difficult. I am pretty sure that second ice dragon was triggered to spawn at that point, as well as fly to the top of the tower. The POV did keep focusing on the top of the tower expectantly before the 2nd dragon appeared.

Some limited scripting must happen for demos in order to maximise the limited time available to show the product off.

It is a delicate balance they will have to have. After the "honeymoon" period of being amazed by the dragons, I imagine they might be a bother.

Oh and since Todd said they dont appear at the very start of the game, im sure you have to trigger them to appear by doing the main quest.Which means on a later playthrough, we might be able to delay it.

There not going to be everywhere, that would ruin the fun of going out and exploring places. I think dragons will be very rare to see early on in the game, but will become more common as you progress in the main quest.

Hopefully it means at the start of the main quest and not X hours of game time.

Yeah I hope.I would bet my precious Umbra, that there is a part of the main quest that introduces dragons in a scripted way.It is too big a moment to be left to randomness. After that they would appear in the world.
