Fallout and New Nintendo Console

Post » Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:45 pm

Actually not even speculation.

Just wondering if it will be ported; it seems like the Wii U will have performance upgrades.

The reason I though of this is kind of odd, but it's an idea that intrigues me.

I was watching the nintendo conference and I saw the footage of the new Zelda and the inventory was on the controller touch screen.

Now imagine playing through a wasteland, looking down to your lap and seeing a fully-functional pipboy with touch commands.

That alone probably isn't worth porting to the new console, though.

I dunno, anyone else have thoughts?

OTHER than "no wai! nintendo's GAI!!!!!!11!!1!111!1oneone."

That would be pretty cool. Having FO3/FONV ported over would also help dispel the "just for kids and casual gamers" impression many people have. I don't know the likelihood of this though, and I imagine it would only be possible if it was done by a third party experienced with such ports.

Indeed..

They would also have to create motion controlls or just not use them (which would be the best option IMO)

Not a good idea right now, maybe Fallout 4 but I want that later on down the road because the series needs to be rebooted from what Beth did in FO3 and also what Obsidian did with New Vegas.

Well considering the console isn't scheduled for release untill next summer, don't think it's a huge problem.

Besides, I never buy a console in it's first year.

I really don't want to see it on a Nintendo console. Lately I have hated them.

Nintendo consoles are a joke, in an interview about Old World Blues one of the devs said it would be coming out for "all the major consoles," PS3, XBox 360, and PC. This year's releases for Wii have been absolutely pathetic, third party schlock, shovelware, and learning games. Nintendo hasn't made a great system since the Nintendo 64, so I doubt they'll be making anything that I'd be willing to play Fallout on anytime soon.

Nintendo is too casual. Many of the ultra popular games are released solely for XBOX, PS3, and PC. The reason for this is probably the power behind each game system. If Nintendo gets a very strong and powerful console that delivers on the power of the console(good internet service, potential to play Crisis 2, etc.) then they'll join the races as a fourth competitor.

If the PC has ridiculously high limits,(I met a guy with 10,000 gigabyte PC with 64 Gigabyte RAM made by a small group of friends. Plays up to five high demanding games with no lag skips), there's no excuse for Nintendo to have an "XBOX 360" of their own.

In reality, the only limit a console has is the mainstream technology available and the price it takes to make it. All Nintendo needs to do is make something that can beat one of the consoles, or at least match it.
