Looking for a good solid LP Morrowind series to watch

Post » Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:34 pm

I've been getting into "Let's Play!"s lately, and I was wondering what your alls suggestions would be for a good Morrowind LP? I've been watching a lot of NintendoCapriSun's LP videos, but as his name suggest, he only does Nintendo games. He's great though, you should check him out. :goodjob:
But yeah, any good Morrowind LP's? Preferably an LP that takes you through the entire main quest at least? Thanks in advance.

Gix' LP is the only I watch and it's excellent. It's a blind let's play, meaning he hasn't played the game before (not for real anyway) and he does loads of hialrious newbie mistakes (like we all did). The best part is that he's also filming his face so you can see his facial expressions when things go wrong. :D

In short his LP allows me to relive the wonderful feeling of being new to Morrowind and that's why I love it so much.

He is doing the main quest along with some Mages Guild and Thieves Guild, but he hasn't finished yet. He did all the Balmora quests and in the MQ he has already visited the Urshilaku, but hasn't progressed much further than that.

Gix hasn't been on in a while, I should probably catch up on his older videos while he is away.

Yeah. Gix all the way.

Another I've recently started is Let's Interactively Play TES 3 Morrowind by a user named Veriax. There people can comment what his character will do next, and he will randomly choose from those comments. Kinda liked it so far. The guy, though, seems entertaining about half the time, and other half he goes completely over the top in a bad way or is otherwise not that entertaining anymore. <_< I'm gonna watch it though. He's done so many parts so far.

Don't watch, read! Reading is good for you!

If you have your heart set on a video LP, though, I have to echo the suggestions for Gix's, which is awesome.

Great link there, thoroughly enjoying the, what did you call it? The reading. If I may...

The first five times I went to Vivec, I would wander aimlessly, ascending ramps, moving from bridge to bridge, ducking in and out of shops, stumbling into the canols, contemplating suicide—I didn’t go on jaunts into the city, I went on expeditions of sweat, blood, and tears. I wouldn’t leave, I’d escape, and once I had I would hack my hand open with a dagger and swear a blood oath to never, ever, ever return.

And then a quest would come up, and I’d have to go back again. And eventually, I etched a map of the city into my brain, inch by inch, room by room, step by painful step. Although I never became fully familiar with Vivec, I did learn to muddle along with a minimum of difficulty, so long as I had access to a map.

Seriously. You think I’m exaggerating, but the actual bloody NPCs have dialogue about how confusing Vivec is. They hang a lampshade on that nonsense.

Thanks all for the replies.
Although Gix is surely enjoyable, I was looking more for someone who had already completed it or is at least active in doing recording, Gix has apparently not been on in months and hasn't made much progress. =/

I'm amazed and quite happy to see that people not only enjoy but recommend my series of videos.

I was going to suggest Veriax's and my own LP myself but if you're looking for a completed series, I'd recon that it would be extremely rare considering the nature of the game... ad then finding one to your liking... the odds are low.

I'll complete the campaign eventually :) I understand the uneasiness of committing to a series when you personally don't know if the guy in charge may or may not complete it. Good luck in your search.

Gix,

Hi, didn't know you hung out here. Not sure why that would surprise me. I've been lurking through your LP myself. Good stuff. Enjoy it a lot. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

I enjoy watching GixG17 and Veriax. I shortly discovered Gix shortly after I began Morrowind myself, so it's pretty cool playing the game and watching the same thing a second time. Probably not the best choice of words...
Wow, these guys are more popular than I thought.

Thanks for replying, Gix. :)
I've watched an episode of your LP, and I really do enjoy it. It's fun to watch your own expressions, and like others have stated, the "noob" mistakes you make turn the LP into a nostalgic adventure down memory lane, because it's like watching myself play it for the first time.

I guess I hadn't thought about how rare it might be to find an LP that's finished the MQ, considering how long the story is, and it's not like Oblivion where you can just rush into it, you have to level on the side, etc, so that would indeed take a long time.

I've been playing it on and off for about 8 years and have yet to finish the main quest.... So yeah, finding a LP that goes all the way thru could be a challenge.

After giving it more thought, I really don't see why it'd be that hard to do an LP of the main quest. It's long, but come on, it's not that long.
NintendoCaprisun has LP's of pretty much EVERY Zelda game and they are in 10 minute parts on skyrim, Majora's Mask is 98 parts and Ocarina of Time is even longer, plus he has Wind Waker, plus all the Mario games, etc. So a 98 part LP at 10 minutes long (some longer at 13 or so minutes) that's about 980 minutes, give or take, which is a little over 16 hours. The main quest in Morrowind would take a little longer but not much. Not if you say..consoled a character to level 40 or so and just started the main quest from there. I might do that someday actually..

I think the reason why the MW MQ takes so long is because the palyer is highly likely to get distracted by one of the myriad other things to do.

Exactly.

I wouldn't consider it entertaining to watch someone just do the quest for the sake of illustration.....

I've not completed the main quest due to an inability to figure it out...althought that might come into play... :) But rather because I've been having too much fun doing other stuff....
