Ive been using conjuration and have been liking the Storm Atronach as its can take hits and has reflect damage on hand as well as the useful shock elements and decent long reach melee attack only weakness is that he is slow

The heat seeking missile. The Clannfear. The are a pain when you against them. But when they work for you, well that is a different story.

I also prefer clannfear. My character is capped at level 20 and we find clannfear do plenty of damage. What we really like though is that the clannfear seems to have the best 'enemy detection' system. Several of the other summons are either slow to attack or don't notice an enemy unless they are very close. Plus, clannfears are just so darn cute! And nasty mean and crazy fast! :twirl:

Clannfear of course, watch him tear through majority of opponents ( except for shock casting things), so I even have a spell, dedicated to clannfear, my dearest friend in OB.

BTW, in terms of sheer power, frost atronach beats out storm. I dunno why, but because frost is resisted a lot, Storm atronach is better.

Clannfear. Summons with ranged attacks were of little use, since I primarily needed the summons to block/deflect attention from my vulnerable mage. Clannfear were perfect at doing this. They aggro'd the opponent, continually staggered them, did good solid damage, never hit me by accident, and went after even the most intimidating enemy. They never stood behind me casting weak target spells as I was surrounded and dispatched by an overwhelming hoard of goblins either.

Second favorite summons would have to be Daedric armor. I would collect all the individual armor parts spells, plus a resist/reflect magic spell, and perhaps a summon dremora lord spell, then combine them into one with the spell crafting system. You go instantly from a defenseless mage to an absolute tank.

Clannfear of course.
