Finally

So I am finally going to pick up Oblivion today. The only thing is, even though my laptop has passed the recommended settings on "can you run it" website for this game. I am still nervous about whether it mite lag in some spots or not. My laptops specs are as follows: AMD Athlon dual-core QL-62 @ 2 ghz, 3gigs of ram(2.75 usable), Nvidia Gforce 8200m, Windows 7 32 bit. Even though the site says I can run it on recommended, what do you guys think about it. Should I just get it for the 360 instead?

If you plan to use mods (and lots of players love playing with mods) then play on PC. If you're cool with the vanilla experiences and prefer gaming on your console (for whatever reasons) then I can personally attest that the 360 version is quite awesome, and I still play it to this very day. I spent quite a few years playing PC games (most recently WoW), and I know you can hook up your PC to your TV and play from the couch, but in my house that isn't an option. So, while my PC is higher res than my 360, the 360 is not bad at all, and it is so much more fun for me to play games on.

Really, it's up to you. Depending on your money situation, you could just buy it for both systems used, and see which you prefer. If money is tight, maybe get it from Netflix for a rental and try it first on both systems, then pick which one to actually buy. That way you're only really out an extra couple dollars.

I always strongly suggest to play games on a PC, whatever the game is and whoever′s asking. On a console it′s hard if not next to impossible to fix bugs, while on PC you can easily fix a number of problems. Not to mention you can trifle around with your savegames just as easily, make backups to a USB and on other locations on the harddrive.
I personally also prefer to sit comfortably close to the screen and use a mouse and keyboard and while those are available to consoles too (I think), it still doesn′t beat PC-gaming! :celebration:

Never had an issue with bugs on the 360. I wouldn't recommend using Oblivion on a computer that only manages to reach the recommended req's. My old Desktop surpassed it easily and still had drama's with frame rates. 360 is smooth and easy.

No mods, but I've managed over 200hrs with the vanilla game.

I'm also the polar opposite to the last post. With TES, nothing better then chilling out on my comfy couch with the controller.

Get game of the year edition on 360. Its plenty of fun. Ive had it for 4years ont he PS3, and never got bored. Skyrim comes out in a few months, you better get on this :D.

Rules for when you get it:

1. Read my character creation guide.

2, Alchemy solves every problem.

3. Do Not play as Breton under the Mage Birthsign. If your gonna be a mage be awesome about it and play Altmer-Apprentice :D
