Olenveld

I'm just interested in the story of necromancers found in the book,http://www.imperial-library.info/content/oblivion-exodus.

'I can think of only one place you can go,' said an old herbalist they found in the most remote peaks of the Wrothgarian Mountains. 'The Mages Guild at Olenveld.'

It was not easy to find Olenveld, as it did not appear on any modern map. In a bookseller's in Skyrim, however, they found it in a historic book of cartography from the 2nd Era. In the yellowed pages, there was Olenveld, a city on an island in the northern coast, a day's sail in summertide from Winterhold.

Sooo.... what the heck is going on here? The herbalist must have been way off.

1) Is Olenveld on an island or in the mountains, lol?

2) According to http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/default/files/gallery_files/minibigmaproadslore31gv.jpg the Wrothgarian mountains aren't near the border of Skyrim at all, and look far more than a days sail from Winterhold.

3) How can the herbalist not even get the province right?

4) So do you think Olenveld is part of the Skyrim province? Do you think it will be part of Skyrim (the game)?

Or is the entire thing just a bedtime story? The whole 'island vs mountain' bit bothers me a lot. I wish it had a grain of truth, so we can find an old Mage's Guildhouse with a history of accommodating necromancy.

You're misreading it. They found the herbalist in the Wrothgarians; the herbalist did not say that's where Olenveld was.

By god yer right. How did I miss that? Anyways, would be awesome to be included in the next game.

Yeah. Actually, one of the first things I did upon seeing the map was to look for any coastal islands. I don't know why, but I think it would be really cool. Maybe just for the geographical variety.
Of course, it'd be especially cool if there were run-down backcountry villages on these islands with groups of affable necromancers living in abandoned buildings.
