This page confuses me.

Does ANYONE know where this info is coming from. The person who wrote this says that the pronunciation of Dunmer as DUN - mur is simply a Cyrodilic interpretation of the word, and it's really pronounced doon - MARE.

He says similar things for all the other elves... where are the sources?

And lastly, he says that mer is pronounced MARE not MUR. All known voice acting in Morrowind and Oblivion pronounce it MUR, and even Todd Howard (AKA the Word of God) pronounced it MUR.

So what makes people think otherwise?

A Dunmer in Morrowind called my character "Dun-mur." I think that's all the evidence I need.

I've often heard "mer" on its own pronounced as "mare" though. I always consider that to just be a different dialect, like "Deedra/Daydra."

Actually, looking at that guide, he got several of them wrong.

Where's this guys source?

If memory serves correctly, MK is the source for the mer said like mare and Chim said like Kim thingy. Otherwise I can't think of sources for that post.

But he isn't Todd Howard.

But he is the one who came up with Chim, and wrote several of the lore books.
