Request: A Dedicated Elder Scrolls RP Site

Post » Sat Jun 11, 2011 11:44 am

Forgive me if this is in the wrong section; it seemed to be as appropriate a place as any.

I've searched for any good ones, but I only found one (which, in my opinion, placed too much importance on classes, skills, and other classifications unrealistic outside of the actual game). I attempted to make a decent forum site, but I really shouldn't have any hand in web design.

Be there any, among ye nerds, artists, and scholars, who would dare meet the task?

A long, very, very, long time ago. I was working on a Elder Scrolls role-playing forum. I worked bloody hard on it to but school life go on top of me and I lost it. Hey, I was young.

I never placed a massive amount of importance on the game play mechanics as there's a reason they're in the game. So I tried to keep them out, I didn't want to see people say, "They are good in; Strength, Speed, Agility. At a master level of each." I tried make the character sheets rational and exclude all of that.

I would try hunting for it but no doubt it's long gone, but I'd be lying if you'd hadn't dug up some old desire from 2006. :P

In lieu of affirmative replies (or rather, any replies, as I've received only one. Haha, witticism.), I've decided to go on with it, myself. I've given up on doing anything aesthetically with it, and chosen a preset layout. I'm kind of in the process of making the storyline, right now. Here it is, so far:
Spoiler
The Oblivion Crisis signaled the end of an era. The years following were, like all times of change, fraught with war and conflict. Tamriel was torn apart as the Empire, leaderless, crumbled. Cyrodiil, its center both politically and geographically, divided into numerous city-states led by poor men's kings who grasped for power. Morrowind was stuck hard by the attacks of the Nords and Orcs, followed soon after by Vivec's destruction and Red Mountain's eruption. They offered little resistance to the Argonians, who took the province in the name of Black Marsh. The Khajiit of Elsweyr broke off from the Empire, returning to their natural, more chaotic, lifestyle. Valenwood and the Sumurset Isle reformed the Aldmeri Dominion and resisted any semblance of Imperial authority that remained.

All was not lost, however. Under Titus Mede's leadership, a large part of the Empire was soon regained. Now, Tamriel is divided into three major areas: The Aldmeri Dominion, the Empire, and the Kingdom of Black Marsh. The Infernal City, Umbriel, has vanished, and attentions have turned back to power, order, and control. Skirmishes between the three empires are not uncommon, though open war has not been waged, largely because of a new distraction: a new land has appeared, far past the shores of Tamriel.

Once lost sailors, now returned, tell of a place where the trees grow taller than hills, and plains stretch along the horizon like seas of grass. Great mountains rise in the distance, from which sparkling rivers trail as far as the eye can see. Some even tell of fortunes to be had; gold and silver lining the walls of caves and tunnels like rays of sun and moonlight.

Travelers, adventurers, and thrill-seekers make their way to this new world in the hopes of making their fame or fortume. Soldiers and nobles stake claims to it, wishing to increase their masters' or their own status. Clergy make pilgrimages, looking to learn more of their gods. Even families migrate, longing to escape the turmoil in their homeland. For whatever reason, though, this realm has arrived.

A child of Nirn has been born.

Anyone who wants to correct or improve it is welcome to; it was a quick job writing, and all my knowledge of 4E events comes from UESP, not The Infernal City.
