The game runs super smooth and loading times and minuscule...but every 10-50 seconds the game will freeze permanently and stays that way and on the task manager it says not responding...it stays in this state, making it unplayable. Any ideas/help to offer?

I got a win 7 64 bit with quad cor 3.2 GHz and NVIDIA GT230 graphics card.

I had a similar issue. There is a fix for multi-CPU PC's. Can't think of it at the moment, but it involves adding a line to the .ini file. Have a look in the hardware forum, I think that's where I found the fix.
