Much important Lore in the oldest games?

Hey guys, after watching the Skyrim at E3 i am very hyped.

When morrowind realesed i was just a kid, but i got it anyway, but didnt finish the game, becuase i was proborly to young to like a game like that.

Anyway i have Finished Oblivion and Looking forward to Skyrim.

I have just installed Morrowind again and got the grapichs mod, gonna be a good weekend.

My question on the other hand is: Is the lore in the oldest games like Arena and Daggerfall important?

I really like lore, games like Warcraft, starcraft and Halo I know alot of the lore, even reads books, so if there is alot important lore in the older games i might have to give Dosbox a go :)

After skyrim trailers at E3 i have been really into TES, and Found out that there is maybe much more lore here than i first saw.

I haven't played the titles pre-Morrowind either. But I think unless you want to play it for fun, you can get your lore fix at thehttp://www.imperial-library.info/, where you can read all the in game books and the storylines.

Not really. There is hardly anything at all in Arena, other than the names of the provinces and some locations, which you probably already know. Daggerfall has more, but most of the Daggerfall books that are still relevant have been carried over to other games. Thats not to say you shouldn't play them, since both are fun games in their own right. If you're just after the lore, though, I'd read over the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/elder-scrolls-ii-daggerfall-storyline and books at TIL.
