- being knocked upside down and desperately shaking their legs trying to restore;

Holy Godz, I fear any insect doing that, let alone the spiders. I can kill them easily while standing still, but when they're agitated with all those creepy legs in the air... disgusting!

- trapping people/creatures.

We already saw a trapped Dunmer, so this is definitely in, but would be cool to witness something like that in real time, you enter a dungeon, hear fight noises from below, advance cautiously, then suddenly the silence. The painful, horrible silence. You sneak into the hall. Blood and webs everywhere. The paralyzed adventurer is still alive while being "packed", you can tell by his terrified convulsing eyes....

For the emphasis, I would like the spider dungeons to be really really dark. Pitch black. Torch or no see.

Have you ever tried to watch a scary movie with the sound turned off? It reduces the scary factor by up to 90%. I believe the same would apply here, personally.

Play dead space 2 with the sound off.
It's comical xD

They don't necessarily freak me out, but then again I've never seen a spider bigger than a dime before, except one time at a Spider Museum like in the Spiderman 1, but anyways I'm sure if I saw a huge spider I would be terrified, I know I'd drop dead if I saw a black widow in my room for example. Anyways, I don't really find spiders in video games that scary, no matter how graphic they are, UNLESS they have a creepy audio, then yes I'll be scared poop-less.

I have massive arachnophobia and I can't wait to find myself running from them while screaming like a little girl!

LOL

I hope they can eat us too :D that would be cool

I also hope they move in a freakish way like in real life, like one minute they are walking slowly then they go into demon speed and jump like crazy zombies

have u seen the jumping spider, man those things move like they can teleport a few cm ahead.

and sounds should make our hair stand.

I am really excited about fighting the spiders. I like the one in the screenshot.
The tactics will vary depending who ambushed who, but I'll naturally try to keep them at distance and burn them with spells. I'm not getting anywhere near that [censored] thing.
I'll be staring at the ceilings, but I don't think the spider silent ambushes will be THAT surprising, because as described in the previews, you will know you entered a spider lair by the webs on the walls.
I agree with Bono, complete darkness would enhance the atmosphere if you are forced to use a torch.
As for sounds, I agree the more silent the scarier,I mean they shouldn't scream for God sake, but hearing their legs crawling and not knowing where they will jump from would be pretty intense.

I guess I have what could technically be defined as arachnophobia. I was bit by a hobo spider when I was little and I had to go to the hospital, so now I hate every one of them and don't wanna look at 'em. But they don't really scare me, I just kill them. With malice. So I am super-excited to hack them to pieces and shock their beady little eyes with my magic.

you know, i wonder if i could get a spider to chase me out of its cave and get a dragon to pick it up and toss it... that'd be awesome.

i doubt spiders would leave their lairs, but still... it'd be interesting to see.

Creepy noises are always great. The skeleton warriors in Daggerfall had a very creepy noise, and it always freaked me out, especially when I didn't know exactly where they were.
