Ok so I finally picked up Fallout 3 on Thursday, and I've been having a hard time getting into the game. I was a HUGE Oblivion nut, poured hundreds of hours into that game. But from the moment I exit the Vault, I just can't get into it. It's boring for some reason. What are some things to do? And also, what tagged skills and special do you reccomend for a newbie?
It can be a bit of challenge for some to get used to the apocalyptic setting when you are so used to the esquisite-ness of the Elder Scrolls environment. Try the 'Wasteland Survival' quest, go the Super mart and kill the raiders there to get some better armour and weapons. Head out and explore, find new locations and I always found battles satisfying with exploding headshots and whatnot. Also, live the game as if you are trying to survive, saving your stimpaks and trying to find old buildings on the horizon with a hope of holding a bed so you can cure your crippled limbs. I always found playing like that made the game more rewarding and less of a game where you are struggling to figure out what you should do next.
Its not totally different from Oblivion but one thing I liked was that the world had more depth.
