What hardware will you use to play Skyrim?

Post » Wed Jun 15, 2011 12:05 am

Monitor: Asus 120hz 3D Ready 1920x1080 23"
CPU: Core i7 950 @ stock (3.06GHz) - I could overclock it a bit, since I have a H50 closed circuit water cooler.
GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 570's in SLI
Mobo: Asus Sabretooth x58 (USB 3.0 compatible)
RAM: G-Skill 3x6GB (1600MHz)

Got the OS and some programs loaded on an OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD. I enjoy the fast boot times and how quickly Photoshop loads XD

Will be trying this game out in 3D first. If it doesn't perform well, then I'll have even more overhead for graphical/environmental overhauls amirite?

Jaw_Drop at the guy with 4x 590s (that's basically 8 570's isn't it?). I doubt the 4th GPU even contributes anything of real note...

The specs of my PC is in my sig... I won't be using my lappy for this game though, its the kinda game where you want to immerse yourself in a nice comfy chair with a nice big screen.

@Viane I doubt you'll be able to max skyrim out. Go for a Nvidia GTX 460 or an ATI 5770 for a suitable upgrade.

I will be playing on my desktop :).

-ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard
-Intel Core I7 980X @ 4.50 GHz (6-core)
-Noctua NHD14 CPU cooler
-6GB DDR3 RAM @1666 MHz
-GTX 590 GPU
-Silverstone Strider 1200W PSU

I am pretty sure Skyrim should run well on it, I am really looking forward to it, pre-ordered the first day that I could.

I too own th G73jh (Only with the better CPU and 6gb RAM) :D But thoose of us who owns such a laptop should have no worries of being able to play this game. Atleast i hope not... That would be alot from bethesda to ask from our computers...

G73Jh is a beast, in my opinion :flamethrower:
To be honest, if we can't play this game smoothly then they must be doing a awful job for the PC version if it's smooth on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, he he.
