Just Got Morrowind to Pass Until Skyrim

What mods are out there that bring Morrowind into a more graphically current appearance? Mainly I'm looking for a good total retexture.

If you don't want to bother choosing stuff on your own, and just want it to look better then install MGSO. MGSO allows some customising, true that, but not on the same level as if you were to install everything yourself.

If you, however, want to do everything yourself then you should just search PES and the Nexus. PROTIP: Morrowind Graphics Extender XE is really nice.

Morrowind Overhaul Graphics and Sound

Yep, that's definitely a good choice. Don't forget the unofficial patches though. (Code Patch & Patch Project)

Unofficial patches for the game or MGSO? Would you recommend that I use the unofficial game patch? I recall the unofficial patch for Oblivion and Fallout 3 introduced a lot of new issues.

The 1.6.3 version is completely sorted. I use it; there are no problems.

The latest version has a few bugs but BTB has fixed version of that although I haven't used it myself.

MGSO includes all the patches you need for Morrowind.
However, MGSO has it's own patches which are basically updates to the package itself.

Just Got Morrowind to Pass Until Skyrim...

I find this statement telling of the state of the genre! Morrowind remains my favorite TES game thus far, and with all the graphic addons it might actually look BETTER than Oblivion! Granted Havok physics and such are nice to have too...

I wouldn't miss http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=563, Abot's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=258 and http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7636&id=2786, http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8707, and of course, my freshly updated house mod http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=9163 =)

I'm not so sure.
The plus is seeing a corpse smoothly ragdoll down a hill.
The minus is walking through a shop with a swarm of bowls, spoons, and forks flying around at your feet and with swords that spontaneously jump out of racks to attack you.
