It boils down to this for me: All the people who hate Bethesda and FO3 are ungrateful @~:L:L!!!ers !
If I honestly felt grateful that a company revived a computer game in order to make a lot of money I would be worried about myself.
They completely revitalised, revived and relaunched an almost forgotten game franchise.
So forgotten they spent a fair sum of money acquiring the IP and considered it a safe bet to make a major game out of. Fact is Fallout was amongst the most widely regarded RPG franchises in recent memory, it was an intellectual property sought by many companies and if Bethesda hadn't revived it someone else would've.
What do they get in return? [censored]ing about how their interpretation of the Fallout Universe wasn't EXACTLY like Fallout 1 and 2.
Yeah I'm sure [censored]ing on forums just ruins those poor Bethesda developers day. I know I shouldn't be staggered by this anymore but this false notion that developers are entitled to only positive feedback is crazy to me. Truth is they received near universal critical acclaim and made a game that was a wild financial success something tells me they can handle some negative feedback on random forums.
"We want an isometric turn-based RPG based in the NCR/Boneyard area and we want it now!" In other words "Bethesda, you better just remake Fallout 1 and 2 with better graphics or else!"
Nice strawman you have there. Bit unbelievable but hey what's the point of making one if you're not going to run all the way with it? No one has, or had, any issues with the idea of changes in Fallout. The issue was importing another, quite different series' gameplay and design goals wholesale into Fallout and calling it inevitable and natural.
The fact is, Fallout 3 is one of the best games EVER. Incredibly detailed, mysterious, rewarding, challenging and an absolute joy to explore. Without Bethesda buying the Fallout IP, we wouldn't have FO3, New Vegas, this forum or even the possibility of Fallout 4/Fallout 5 etc ......
And they did all out of the charity of their hearts too. We should get on our knees and thank them and never explain our issues with their games or why we may have thought they didn't make a good Fallout game. That's just ungrateful.
