Spoiler El - A title used to show holy/important significance, and/or god-like status (Used in a name, like a compound word, except that the "El" is separated by a hyphen. The El can be used as a prefix, or a sufix, but it must always be hyphenated, and the "E" must always be a capital.)
Also on a side note, in the commentaries it said that Dagon threw down Lyg (what I understand is another name for Lorkhan?) but I thought Mankar revered Lorkhan aswell as Dagon? In the commentaries he seems like an enemy.
Yes, it is bizarre. He calls Lorkhan a daedra, praises daedra, talks trash about Lorkhan's enemies, and then we are given a scene where Mehrunes Dagon smashes his skull.
My best theory at the moment is that this is some sort of sacrificial imagery, not meant to be hostile to Lorkhan. Think of the sacrificial lamb/Jesus Christ imagery. Lorkhan is steeped in sacrifice as it is, so this is possible.
