Will you use guardian stones?

Will you use guardian stones?

I will not. In TES I always prefer to work my character from the absolute ground up.. ie no perks, no gold [censored], no glitches to take advantage of etc.. I dont even use magic. I prefer the gritty, survival aspect of being at lower levels. I like the feeling of danger.

so yeah I will ignore the guardian stones if I see them, I want no advantages at all. I'm very much hoping that we can choose not to take a perk when levelling up.

Just play naked. I am serious. Plenty of people play TES with no weapons, no magic and no armour at all. Don't pretend you are so tough and special. No one really cares as we are not in an MMO. You have no one to brag to unless you want to put up youtube videos. Just go do naked speed-runs like everyone else.

I think the game is balanced around the character using the guardian stones to simulate the choice of a birth sign and the choice of magic/combat/stealth. Perks, on the same note, are meant to balance the game.

I'm kinda the same, don't use potions and rarely use magic. I often run around with just some food and some common clothing and use whatever non-potion items I find in a cave to get through and only take the really unique stuff out with me, but I'll probably use the guardian stones if I find one with a passive bonus that fits my character.

Yeah I will, no point in ignoring a perfectly good feature in my eyes.

Yeah, sure I will.

I mean, why not? They are part of the game mechanic that they are employing - a replacement for birthsigns. It's like saying 'I'm not going to choose a birthsign' Or since you couldn't 'I'm going to choose the LEAST suitable birthsign, just to make things awkward....'

But, each to his own I guess

Why do some people there treat magic like it is some sort of cheat?

Next thing you are going to tell me that you think sneaking is cheating. Or maybe wearing a helmet is cheating.

If all they offer is a substitute for classes/specialisations then no. I don't want classes/specialisations creeping in by the backdoor. Besides which yes the early part of the game is usually the most fun although if they've got the level-scaling right and made powerful loot hard to find hopefully we won't end up overpowered too quickly.

I will use them. And OP, you should say that Guardian Stones increase your leveling of 1 of 3 archtypes by 30%
permanently, rather than just having a Wuts guardian stones?

Just sayin.

I think it'll certainly be possible to play without the stones, and probably even perks. Have fun with that though, seems boring to me after a while.

Just a thought, but if the stones are attuned to the stars, the first three being the 'greater' signs of Warrior, Mage, and Thief, and each of the skills have a constellation in the UI, will the other stones be linked to individual skills?
