Brink's first DLC will be FREE

Post » Mon Jun 20, 2011 12:35 pm

AS you may or may not know brink too was an "unfinished" game when it was released, with tons of bugs and graphical glitches. Splash Damage has announced that their first DLC for Brink will be completely free "To show our appreciation for your support of Brink, we will be making the first DLC for Brink available for free when it is released." This FREE DLC includes:
New Maps
Founders' Tower – The revolution finally reaches the island's iconic spire and takes the battle for the Ark to dizzying heights.

Labs – Venture into the depths of the Ark’s original research and development laboratories, a submerged high-tech facility so far untouched by the civil war.

New Player Abilities
UAV – This stealthy and lethal device allows Operatives to automatically mark nearby enemies on their radar. For more explosive fun, they can even take direct control of the UAV and detonate it near unsuspecting foes.

Napalm Grenade – Soldiers can use this new grenade to cover an area in a sea of deadly flames.

Pyro Mine – Engineers can plant these mines and leave enemies in the epicenter of a massive napalm explosion.

Field Regen Unit – Medics can deploy these units to increase the health regeneration of any nearby teammates.

Tactical Scanner – This universal ability allows players to reveal the active buffs of their opponents, allowing them to pick off enemies more strategically.

New Weapon Attachments
Bayonets – Gain the edge in melee combat and cause extra damage with these deadly blades.

Weapon Shields – Take cover from enemy fire and prevent headshot bonus damage behind riot-style shields.

New Character Outfits
The Sad Punk – Add a touch of Steampunk to your Resistance character.

The Limey – Bring order to the Ark with this outfit inspired by traditional European police lawmen.

Yae...makes you think doesn't it?

Not really - I play Valve, Minecraft and Tripwire games. All DLCs there were also free and they also made deals for a few days for games getting a DLC. Result? (in In case it was a Valve-DLC - More money for Valve than in a usual time.
For Tripwire-DLC - people bought the at the same time released Skinpack en masse. (4 skins for 1,50€)
Minecraft - well, nothing but that game already sold like 2.3 million times. :P

Probably a sorry for f*cking the game up too much. This is something Crytek should do.

I'm not comparing the two games you dumb fck (Harsh but you really are one - based on comments I've read posted by you)...I'm comparing the developers attitude towards their community and the way they handled the situation.

Why post it in a crysis 2 forum, all you're doing is trying to promote a "proper bugged out" game because they added a few **** maps for free. Some of the brink bugs make crysis 2 look like the most stable game on the planet and the thought of a dlc free or otherwise wouldn't make me buy that game.

At least I can play crysis 2.

Why? Well I'm with the thousands of people protesting the Crysis 2 DLC's. Second I never said Brink was a good game and I'm in no way promoting it, what I am doing is showing that Splash Damage admit that the released product was not up to standard (like Crysis 2) and they are releasing the first DLC as an apology to the people who bought the game. Crytek made a game that was buggy and incomplete and then they have the nerve to charge for a DLC before the game is "fixed". BTW why would I want to protest on the Brink forums? If you had an IQ you would have understood why I made this post on the Crysis 2 forum...it really is obvious.

Brink is another mulitplatform game fail. I think the best multiplatform game in recent times was Batman AA, Just Cause 2 as well but they did't patch JC2 very well and left it to rot. Saints Row 2 has got to be the worst .

I have to agree...Multiplatforming games don't work. But rather have buggy games than have no games at all.

Dude first of all...I never said Splash Damage was better than Crytek (development wise), but that's obvious as Crytek probably has a much bigger budget...secondly and I'm saying this again because for some reason you don't get it...I'm comparing how the two companies treat their client base...lastly...I like that language and dissing you in it gives me a warm Fuzzy feeling inside, because that language has the only word that best describes you. :D

Exhausting! Really? Try some cardio mate. Buck up. Give meditation a fling. Do some push ups. Drink a brew. Pat that forehead down with the back of your hand, tilt your head back slightly, and sigh. "Exhausting."

Don't say.

Well from what I've seen they've also paid close attention to the people on the forums with regards to fixes and updates for Brink.

Oh yes! Well done. Now that's how to do it.

Maybe perhaps also, "learn another language, or at least babelfish", "become a polyglott", or "the world is bigger than your little corner of the backwood". Nothing like gently condescending. Bravo, and kudos.
