I think I would prefer Elder Scrolls to remain in the setting it currently has. If I want futuristic I will play a game like Fallout or Crisis 2. The thought of guns even as primritve as muskets gets most fans hot under the collar including myself actually. Daedric laser rifles doesn't turn me on anyway.

A game set in the distant future wouldn't really be an Elder Scrolls game anymore and I think would ruin the series, not to be melodramatic or anything.

The Daedra have already built the turret. (Those things in Oblivion with the spinning tops that fired fireballs) One could reasonably presume that any "gun" built by the Daedra would actually be a powerful magical weapon.
