Is Interplay allowed to do this?

It's a PIP device in their Fallout Online MMORPG. I mean, sure they're allowed to make their Fallout game, but it's canon for the rest of the games that they're messing with here. It has a whole canon backstory and everything. So, can they do this? They're messing with the storyline of the Bethesda owned Fallout Franchise.

Please note this isn't to discuss the legalities of the dispute, but whether or not Interplay is/should be allowed to add in their own stories that can affect the other storylines.

I don't think we're allowed to discuss the MMORPG at all here. Regardless I don't see how this conflicts with the canon.

Well, I think the adding of a new PIP device and adding a story to the history of RobCo (a big part to Mr.House in FNV) would be messing with future storylines.

But I guess it's nothing too big, it just irks me that they can add in whatever they want as long as it has no huge affect.

I don't see how this is any different from Bethesda adding the PipBoy 3000.

From what I understand, that is what the lawsuit is all about.

Are they allowed? Don't know. Once the verdict is handed in we will.

But the transition from a PIP Boy 2000 to a 3000 isn't a big one. Adding a completely new PIP device is.
