What kind of tone do you want Skyrim to have?

Post » Tue Jun 21, 2011 6:09 pm

I picked other because Skyrim's atmosphere has pretty much been confirmed as being "raw"

Its not grusome, just rugged.

id love to vote but two of the choices are the same thing. dark and gloomy and gritty kind of go together. also, im not sure what "emotional" is supposed to mean. i had an emotional feeling with morrowind.....awe. but i also had an emotional feeling with oblivion........WTF!

I'd love for Skyrim to be a little bit dark and gloomier in certain regions. I think it would compliment the mountains really well and make the whole game feel more epic.

Only in certain parts though. For the most part i'm happy with the current tone of the game.

Could it possibly be all of above? To support all the styles seem like a possibility to me. I don't really notice these things because I never actually thought about it, well that only applies to Oblivion. I thought Oblivion was like emotional, gritty, charming, and dark as a whole because certain things were emotional, gritty,charming, and dark.

Gritty, which is odd consdiering the last two games of this style have been Fallout games that are much more gritty than anything in TES should be.

I... should have said gritty and visceral, like the Conan stories, instead of charming. But it shouldn't be angst-overload.

I've already played Dragon Age, I don't want to play it again under a different title. "Dark" fantasy is lame.

Depending on the environment obviously.

For the main quest, I want a very gritty, dark, and emotional side to it. Personally as a roleplayer and immersion advocate, I want to feel attached AS A PLAYER to characters I'm supposed to feel attached for and also feel hatred towards the villains, or maybe sympathy. But I also want it to be dark and real. No butterflies and lollypops to brighten any mood, it needs to feel real and in the now.

For side quests, it really depends. If it's something like deliver something to somebody, it can really be anything it wants to be, but personally, I want it to be a little light as it's a regular story...unless it's a conflict. Conflicts should be dark by nature.
~~~~~~~~~
Towns and other quiet areas should have an emotional and cozy nature to it while large cities should have a busting and fast nature to it. But any normal settlement should have a lighter tone to it...unless that said settlement is inhabited by Glarthirs.
A variety but overall more towards the cold and harsh side.
Id say gritty and dark. I want crime, poverty, oppression. The dark side of things.
Oblivion was way too peaceful.
I want the dungeons dark and frightening, the outdoors cold and forbidding, the majority of npcs dour and untrusting, and the main quest to feel like a heavy burden, a grim and unwelcome destiny, not an excuse to collect shouts.
But I want the clear nights to have a star field thats fills me with wonder, and I want the taverns warm, and welcome to the weary traveller.
The theme is already decided to be dark and vikingish. I personally don't like it but I trust in Bethesda.
Not dark, brooding, emo, and angsty please.
Awesome, gritty, awesome, visceral, awesome, and intense is far better.
