Will I have a voice?

Andel Crodo once said "that which should be read should be written; that which should be heard should be spoken".

Will my character speak?

No. And thank god.

The player-character should NEVER be fully voice-acted in an Elder Scrolls game. It's my character... I don't want some voice-actor dictating their personality.

So far, we know that dragon shouts will be voiced. What we don't know, is if we get to choose our voice or even if they have a different voice for each race.

At the most you'll have race and gender related grunts and groans that come with adventuring. Probably even male/female shouts. But please god, no more than that. The greatest games of all time leave that up to your imagination. Link never says a word ;)

Whenever there is someone speaking for me, I feel as though they're saying something different from what I would say, and that annoys me. It really makes me feel as though I'm not the person playing, but like I'm watching this guy do stuff. I've always thought it was perfect in Oblivion, just maybe a few more options for what to say.

Edit: I also always want to be able to pretend I'm cussing the guy out too

I'll be sorely disappointed the day an ES game has a protagonist with a voice.

I only think the grunts and Dragon Shouts will be voiced, nothing else. Anyways, I'd rather not have my character speak, unlike this certain sequel that also involves Dragons had included.

Actually, the voice is probably pre-determined for the times (s)he has to Fus Ro Dah the enemy's ass off.

Nord females need Lynda Carter's voice.
Redguard Males need Michael Mack's.

You have the typical grunts and groans of combat, as does every race, just like in Morrowind, and just like in Oblivion. But your character will not be fully voice acted, no. When you talk to people, you do not speak, you just pick topics and the NPC speaks, just like in Oblivion.

The bosmer male should be voiced by Neil Patrick Harris

Dunmer female Claudia Black

Not if Skyrim is using up all of the 360s resources.(which im sure it does) Remember kinnect requires the 360 to do a good amount of the work. Due to a marketing decision to take out one of the 2 processors from the kinnect before it launched, to reduce costs.

I want to be able to speak the dialogue choice into a microphone and have the NPC's response be different depending on the tone of your voice.

Interesting to note however, that MS recently released the Windows 7 Kinnect SDK for PC.

Personally I think it would be pretty cool if we have to shout the actual words to use dragon shouts.
