Performance Issues after 1.8

Post » Wed Jun 22, 2011 8:19 am

So did anyone here get a fairly large decrease in performance after the latest patch? Prior to it the game ran flawlessly for me with everything maxed out @ 1080p, FPS range in the 100s and the lowest in the 60s. Now I'm in the highest at 60-70, and if there is a lot going around I get in the 30s,40s,50s. My drivers are always up to date so that is not the issue. Rig specs are in profile.

Yep I lost a lot of FPS too. Everything's up to date. ATI Radeon HD 5770.

I can only hope this will be fixed once the DX11 update comes out.

Why would DX11 fix it? It would make it worse.

Because DX11 shaders tend to be much more optimized than DX9 shaders. It requires less code to execute features such as Bloom, DOF etc in DX11 compared to DX9.

It'll only run worse if the shaders are poorly written or you enable extra DX11 exclusive features like Tessellation.

I get performance decreases on Impact and Skyline, that's about it, Mid 40's on Impact (inside the crooked building) and mid 50's on Skyline (inside the building). Everywhere else runs fine where I capped it (65 fps). Other dips are just caused by the gpu at full load. The dips on Skyline were there on the previous patch. Dips on Impact might be from 1.8 ... Idk.
Still on Nvidia's 270.61 driver.

well I guess you're luckier than me, cause the whole game runs significantly slower after this patch.

Try a couple previous drivers. Latest isn't always the best.
