I firmly believe the game will be done at least 2 weeks in advance and they're just holding out for the date.

It has to be done more like 6+ weeks in advance in order to manufacture the cases and discs and ship them.

I doubt it will be delayed. The game was said to be very far along last December, though I admit in some of the interviews it sounded like they were trying to cram in as much as they can these last few months.

This is wild speculation on my part, but I'm guessing they need it finished by some time in August so they can then focus on fixing all the known bugs and making sure those bugs don't break anything else. That would give them September to focus on the fixes and October to manufacture the discs and early November to ship them. Granted I'm not sure that's how game releases actually work but that's what I'm guessing.

It's far less common for a game to miss an exact date than it is for a game to miss a targeted release month as well.

They'll already said that they're going to make the release date unless some terrible unforeseen thing occurs.

Not likely. They wouldn't put such a date if they weren't absolutely sure that they would be able to hit it.

While a delay certainly is possible, I don't think it's very likely. Considering how confident they were to be able to announce an exact date (which they never done so early before), I think some serious misfortune must happen for them to miss it. Like half the Bethesda staff got sick :P

0-25% because it is POSSIBLE, but not likely. They've got the date 11/11/11, they surely won't just delay it and don't get that date.

Skyrim either will or will not release on 11/11/11. That condition by default calls for a 50% chance. I remain somewhat more optimistic than that but back in my mind I mentally am preparing myself for bad news.....

Things targeted at wacky dates (like 11/11/11) don't generally get delayed, since they've invested so much in hitting that date. So I really don't expect it.

11 - 11 - 11 looks like a good date

skyrim coming out
movie immortals coming out
movie 11-11-11 coming out lol

I'm hoping it gets delayed. I do not like the fact that they are pretty much forcing the 11-11-11 release date, especially this early.

Take the time to get it right.

I doubt it'll be delayed. I'm not saying that there's no chance of it being put back but I think they'll get it out in time.

Todd has been very adamant about the date so far.
